(Newark, NJ) July 17, 2025 – Newark Beth Israel Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Health Care Equity Certification for excellence in its efforts to provide the most effective and compassionate care, treatment and services possible for all the populations it serves.
Newark Beth Israel has demonstrated that it has established structures and has processes in place to improve health outcomes within its patient populations.
Newark Beth Israel underwent a rigorous onsite review in 2024. During this visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with certification standards under the following domains:
- Leadership
- Collaboration
- Data collection
- Provision of care
- Performance improvement

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility,is a 665-bed regional care teaching hospital that provides comprehensive health care.
