Problems

Impaired physical mobility, activity intolerance, and pain are problems that can result from illness or injury and cause disability. Disability is complex as it involves both a person's physical impairment and their ability to participate in society. Activity intolerance is often due to generalized weakness from acute or chronic disease, while acute pain usually stems from tissue damage from illnesses, injuries, or surgeries.

PROBLEMS 1.

Impaired physical mobility

JUSTIFICATION Impairment is a problem in body function or structure; an activity limitation is a difficulty encountered by an individual in executing a task or action; while a participation restriction is a problem experienced by an individual in involvement in life situations. Thus disability is a complex phenomenon, reflecting an interaction between features of a persons body and features of the society in which he or she lives." (Kozier et al. Fundamentals of Nursing. 9th edition. 2002. p. 916) Most activity intolerance is related to generalized weakness and debilitation secondary to acute or chronic illness and disease. (Kozier et al. Fundamentals of Nursing. 9th edition. 2002. p. 894
