Viola Competition for Young Musicians

The 7th Yuri Bashmet International Viola Competition will take place from January 24th to February 2nd, 2013 in Moscow, Russia. It is open to violists aged 16 to 40. The competition offers a Grand Prix of $15,000 as well as other cash prizes for first, second, third place and several special prizes. Participants will perform works by Bach, Stravinsky, Mozart, Brahms, and Schumann. The final round involves a performance of a viola concerto with orchestra. Free accommodation is provided to participants.
