On September 15th, 2013, the Sydney community will continue the quest started by Terry Fox in 1980 by hosting
the Terry Fox Run for cancer research. This is the Run that started it all. Details are as follows:

Sunday, September 15, 2013 Open Hearth Park, Sydney 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Registration from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Run officially begins at 1 p.m.
Join cancer survivors, friends, family and community for a run, walk, wheel or ride around the path at Open Hearth Park. There is no entry fee and no minimum donation is required. There will be a barbecue and entertainment for the kids. This is a noncompetitive, community event. Those wishing to make a donation can do so at the event or online at [Link] by clicking on "Find a Run Site" at the top of the page, and searching for the Sydney, Nova Scotia event. All donations go to the Terry Fox Foundation to fund innovative cancer research. Did you know: 84 cents of every dollar raised by the Terry Fox Foundation goes to cancer research? To date, the Terry Fox Foundation has raised over $600 Million for cancer research worldwide? Terry Fox ran 5,374 km between April 12, 1980 and September 1, 1980 in his original Marathon of Hope?
