Crime Stoppers reward offered


in backyard robbery cases

September 9, 2009 (MINNEAPOLIS ) This afternoon the Crime Stoppers program has
come forward to offer up to a $1000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest
and conviction of the suspects involved in the backyard robbery cases from last
weekend.

In these two incidents the suspects targeted late night backyard gatherings in the
Hale neighborhood of the Third Precinct in south Minneapolis . One of the suspects
was armed with a handgun and in the second incident early Sunday morning a victim
was shot following a confrontation with the suspects. That victim is recovering at
HCMC.

Over the weekend a caller did contact the Minneapolis 911 center and stated that he
had recovered a cell phone belonging to one of the victims. Investigators are still
asking that person to come forward and turn the phone over to police.

The suspects in the 10th Avenue South case are described as black males 14 to 18
years old, about 6 feet tall with light builds. The suspects in the Chicago Avenu e
case are described as black males 14 to 18 years old, 5’06” to 5’08’ tall with light
builds. In both cases the suspects were wearing sweatshirts with the hoods up and
bandanas over their faces.
