CSE 1041 Mini-Project
You need to identify a mini-project that you will present towards the end of the semester. In this project, you will have to: Demonstrate the use of HTML. Demonstrate the use of CSS. Use JavaScript to validate data at the browser. Be able to connect to a database and SELECT, INSERT and UPDATE data to the database using PHP. Use AJAX to make your web site more interactive.
Note: Marks will be allocated for additional or outstanding features implemented.
You are expected to work in groups of 3 persons (This is a strict rule and I do not want some of you at the end of the semester to come up with excuses like my partner no longer is working with me, so I joined group X or I am working individually Unless you have been given permission by the Lecturer). Although you are a group, you will be marked individually based on your contribution to the project.
You are expected to start working on your mini-project right from the start of the semester and not wait for the last week to do same. To help you in this endeavour, you will be expected to have reached the following milestones and you will be asked to provide evidence during lab session: Week 5 Submit a printed report giving synopsis of your mini project and your group members. Try to find a mini-project that you are interested in (something related to your hobby, to help you learn better ). You should have an overall idea of how you want to structure the information you want to provide for your website. Submit a printed report containing a database of your project with tables, fields and constraints (Data types, Primary Keys, etc). A relationship diagram in Microsoft Access or Microsoft Word is fine. But think about your design well, as you will be asked questions regarding your design. Submit a printed report with the forms for your project ready, including style sheets and JavaScript. Demo of your mini-project in the lab.
