Broker Monitor Overview and Functionality

The Broker Monitor continually monitors Broker Servers for unexpected exits and attempts to automatically restart them. It is started from the INSTALL_DIR directory using the command S45broker71 start. A single Broker Monitor can oversee multiple Broker Servers, and each Broker Server can host multiple Brokers while a single Broker runs on one or many Broker Servers.

Broker Monitor: Continually monitors the servers run state.

It automatically attempts to restart a


server if it exits unexpectedly. Broker monitor is started by the command S45broker71 start from
INSTALL_DIR directory. For each webMethods Broker installation, there is one Broker Monitor instance
that monitors all Broker Servers.
Broker Server: Manages the communication, routing and queue storage functions for all the Brokers that it
hosts. A single Broker Monitor can monitor multiple Broker Servers. A Broker server can have multiple Brokers
Broker: A container for document types, client groups, and client state objects. One or many brokers may run on a
Broker Server. Multiple Brokers can have a single Broker Server.
