the Return of Tacna to Peru:
Tacna was occupied by the Chilean army after the Battle of Alto de la Alianza fact happened
on 27 May 1880 with the Treaty of Ancon signed on October 20, 1883, ordered as Tacna
Arica, remain in power all of Chile for ten years. Also upon completion of the decade a
plebiscite to define the fate of both hands Peruvian provinces in southern country should be
conducted.
Chile is so far passed over 10 years to avoid making the plebiscite. Which could perform after
49 years of occupation. To recover these territories the Peru beginning negotiations that
resulted, submit ti issue to the arbitration of the President of the United States and
representatives of USA, Peru and Chile. It was in 1928 during the government Legufa
negotiations resumed and after many and complex negotiations to end the signing was
achieved on June 3, 1929 the Rada Gamio-Figueroa Larran Treaty, also called Treaty of Lima
where Peru's government had to give up the province of Arica, the province of Tacna to Peru.
This historic act of reinstatement was made and met on Wednesday 28 August, 1929.
On August 28, 1929, the city of Tacna embanderada dawn and in the streets all the people
