This tutorial is designed to explain how Vtiger 6 can be downloaded and installed through XAMP and LAMP.
You can download Vtiger CRM source from here (https://www.vtiger.com/crm/open-source-downloads/) . It's open source and absolutely free. Please note that the beta
release is intended ONLY FOR TESTING and NOT for production. Migration from 5.4 will only be supported in RC version to come later.

Installation prerequisites for installation on XAMPP 1.

Installation On Hosted Linux Server
1. Copy & Paste your Vtiger CRM file in your webserver path
2. After pasting Vtiger CRM file, you'll need to extract the source file in your apache web root directory.
3. After extracting, you'll need to provide permissions for that file. To give permissions, use the following commands
chmod -R 775 vtigercrm
chown -R <apache_user>:<apache_group> vtigercrm

Make sure that you start apache and mysql
4. Now, open your browser and access your Vtiger by using your IP address.
For instance, http://localhost/vtigercrm
Installation On XAMPP
1. Copy & Paste your Vtiger CRM file in your webserver path
2. After pasting Vtiger CRM file, you'll need to extract the source file in your apache web root directory.
Make sure that you start apache and mysql
3. Now, open your browser and access your Vtiger by using your IP address.
For instance, http://localhost/vtigercrm

To begin with, click on Install button in the welcome screen.

Read through the license agreement, and click I Agree to proceed ahead.

Check your PHP Configurations and make sure that Required Values are in compliance with Present Values. Click Next to proceed with the installation.

Please provide Mysql credentials of your server under Database Information block. Also, configure default currency and personal information through System Information
and Admin User Information blocks respectively. After providing appropriate values, click Next.

Finally, Confirm your configuration settings and click Next
