Objectives of Research

Hero Honda started as a joint venture in 1984 between Hero Cycles of India and Honda of Japan, which terminated in 2011 when the company was renamed Hero Motocorp. A study analyzed customer perception in the Erode region of India after the breakup, finding through primary research that Hero Motocorp remained the more famous and powerful brand locally. The objectives were to compare customer perception of Hero and Honda motorbikes, identify Hero Motocorp's strengths and weaknesses, and suggest areas for Hero Motocorp to improve.

Hero Honda started in 1984 as a joint venture between Hero Cycles of India and Honda of Japan.

In December 2010, the board of directors of the Hero Honda Group has decided to terminate the
joint venture between Hero Group of India and Honda of Japan in a phased manner in August
2011 the company was renamed Hero Monocarp with a new corporate identity.
The objective of this study is to analyze the customer perception at erode location after breakup
between Hero and Honda.
The study was conducted at Erode region and it is based on primary data. A questionnaire was
designed to collect opinions of existing Hero Honda customers. The study reveals that Hero
Motocorp is more famous & powerful Brand in the area of survey. Hero is still outperforming in
Erode Location as compared to Honda.

OBJECTIVES OF RESEARCH
Comparative analysis of customer perception as regard to Hero & Honda Motorbikes.
To identify the strength and weaknesses of Hero Motocorp Ltd.
To suggest the area of improvement as regard to weakness of Hero Motocorp Ltd.
