You'll find taking pictures with your new Bell & Howell Dial 35 camera will
be easy and enjoyable! This unique hall-frame camera uses regular 35mm
film—avyailable everywhere, and it has all the very latest features for
perfect results. Even the operation is simplified with automatic
exposure and spring motor film winding. You'll get twice as many.
pictures on a roll of film, too! Each 20 exposure roll will give you
40 pictures, and a 36 exposure roll will give you 72 shots.
That’s real convenience and economy!
To become completely familiar with the features of this fine
camera, read this instruction booklet thoroughly. Try a practice
roll before using your camera for the first time on a trip
or at a special event.

1 To load film, open the
camera back and drop in the
cartridge. Slip the film end
(leader) into the take-up
spool slot, then turn the
Winding Grip to take up the
slack. Be sure tho film is
securely fastened, then close
tho back. NOTE: Install
battery before loading film.

2 Tum the Spring Motor
Winding Grip until the motor
is fully wound (you will feel
the clutch slip). This safety
clutch prevents overwinding.
The initial winding will
advance the film to the first
picture. After each exposure
the motor automatically
winds the film for the next
shot. (See page 7.)
2 The Film Speed Dial sets
the electric eye for the film
you are using. Turn the dial
to align the film speed
range (that includes your
film) with the Film Speed
Index. For example, for a
film speed of ASA 64, set
the dial to the 40-54 position.
