Kriiss Optronic GmbH GEM TRAVELLAB 1, General Description GEM TRAVELLAB is a mobile gem laboratory that can be used anywhere, It works on main power supply (90 to 260 VAC with automatic power switch), as well as on a built-in, longlife autocharged accumulator, and a 12 Volt DC car battery. There is also a built-in cold light source and darkfield illumination with excellent light intensity control. Stereo-Zoom-Microscope with Zeiss-Jena optics for testing coloured stones and diamonds, useable in vertical and horizontal direction. Contains tweezers for loose and mounted gems. Gem magnification 10x - 50x, extenable to 160x, New dark field illumination. Glass cell table, vertically and horizontally adjustable, with polarizing equipment, Immersion liquids 1.57 and 1.66 nD. Refractometer with sodium-filter and Anderson-liquid, Simple and convenient handling. Refraction index nD 1.3 to 1.81. Scale graduation 0.01, with 0.001 units easily estimable. Upper part can be locked by means of shading cover. Viewing opticsdesigned for sharp focusing, built-inmonochromate filter (Na) nD 589 nm. Polarization filter for determination of double refraction. Spectroscope for specific gem colour determination, with adustable, light-proof sealing slot. The wave length scale is 700 - 400 nm, and the dispersion is C-F = 7 degree. Polariscope for the differentiation between amorphous mineralsand gems. The polarization filters can be rotated, making it easy to measure single and double refractions. Conoscope for the mesurement of optical axis. Overhead daylight source for diamond graduation with sorting base. UV-cabinet with long- and short-wave UV lights. On the next page you will find an illustration of the case with the location of all parts of the gem travellab. Page 3 A. Kriiss Optronic GmbH.
