Pier Cap

The pier cap has a concrete grade of M25, with a compressive strength (fck) of 25 MPa. The bending moment (BM) at the support is 84.85 kN-m. The effective depth (d) is 540 mm. The neutral axis depth (N) is calculated as 0.258. The area of main reinforcement required is 716.3 mm2, with 16 mm diameter bars provided at 200 mm centers. Shear reinforcement of 12 mm diameter bars at 120 mm centers is also required to resist the remaining shear force of 258,100 N.
