Participant should be a resident/domicile of Mohali. Or
Studying in any educational institution located in Mohali. Or
Working in Mohali.
AGE LIMIT
Born on and after 01-01-2007 for Under-9
Born on and after 01-01-2001 for Under-15
Born on and after 01-01-1997 for Under-19
Born on and after 01-01-1991 for Under-25
REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
Step 1: Fill up the Online Registration Request form at www.mohalichess.in
Step 2: After filling of Online Registration form, Check your confirmation online at given link at
www.mohalichess.in after 10 min of submission your detail will be automatically updated in
request confirmation link. Submit fee at Venue. The British School Sector 70, Mohali. On 28th
May at 8:30 A.M.
Please Note: Those who will not fill online form before 3:00 PM 27th May will not be considered, as we do not accept on the spot entry on same day of event. For any query please feel

RULES & REGULATIONS
Mohali District Chess Championship
[Under- 9, Under- 15, Under- 19 (Boys & Girls) & Under-25 (Mix)]
28th May & 29th May, 2016
Venue: The British School, Sector 70 Mohali
Reporting time for Championship is 8:30 A.M on May 28th, 2016.
All dues will be settled during 8:30 to 9:00 A.M on May 28th, 2016.
Round 1 may start at 10:00 A.M. on May 28th, 2016.
Only actual participant are allowed during match in playing area.
Players are requested to bring their own lunch.
Players are also requested to come in their school uniform both days of event.
The organizing committee reserves its right to accept or reject any entry received after due date.
Mere submission of entry does not confirm the eligibility of a participant.
Each Participant must attach a valid certificate to prove his/her age. Players without date of
birth certificates will not be allowed to participate.
10. International Chess Sets will be used.
11. Players should bring their own chess clock and Chess Set.
12. Latest World Chess Federation (FIDE) laws will be applicable.
13. The tournament will be played under Swiss System. If Number of Entries is six or less in any category Round Robin will be applicable. If in any category number of entry is only one player then it
will be merged.
14. The total number of rounds and detailed program will be announced before the start of
the Tournament.
15. Each round will be of (60 min each+15 Sec increment).
16. Walk-over time will be of 15 minutes.
17. If a player is absent in any two consecutive rounds his withdrawal from the tournament will
be automatically assumed.
18. TIE-BREAK: In case of a tie the following rules will be applied in descending order.
a) Bucholz Tie-Breaks upto cut 2 b)Progressive System c) Toss/Draw of lots.
19. The organizing committee reserves its right to change or alter the rules if necessary without prior intimation.
20. In all cases of disputes and/or Interpretation of the rules the decision of the organizing committee will be final and binding on all players. Protest, If any, against the decision of the organizing
committee shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs. 1000/- within 15 min of the occurrence of the incident. The amount shall be refunded if appeal is upheld by the committee.
21. Smoking in the tournament Hall is strictly prohibited.
22. All participants are expected to maintain silence and discipline in Tournament Hall.
23. The organizing committee can introduce the chess clock (Minimum 10 minutes each will be given) at any stage of any game and no appeal against it will be entertained.
24. No friendly games or analysis of games is allowed inside the tournament hall.
25. First 3 (Three) position holders in each category will be selected to represent Mohali District in
their respective age category in upcoming Punjab State Chess Championship this year. Details
of State Championship may be obtained from www.punjabchess.in
26. Trophies will be given to the first three position holders in each category. Certificates will
be given to all the participants.
27. It is compulsory for all the players to attend the closing ceremony; those who were not present
at closing shall loose the right to get participation certificates.
28. Appeal committee/Chief Arbiters decision will be final and binding to all the players.
29. Appeal's Committee and other rules and regulations will be displayed at the notice board before the commencement of the tournament.
