Arduino Light Theremin Project Guide

A group built a light theremin that uses a photo resistor instead of the normal piezo sensor. They were able to get the theremin to work by detecting light levels but were unable to play a song with it, possibly due to issues with their coding. The device uses a photo resistor, piezo, and 10 kilohm resistor. The included code causes the speaker to play different pitches, frequencies, and intervals based on the light levels detected by the photo resistor.

Arduino Topic #6 Light Theremin

Instead of using the normal piezo. The Arduino comes with;


we got a different one and soldered it to some wires. Still works
great We just werent able to play a song using it though, I have
no idea if its our coding (most likely) or not. While we were trying
to complete this topic, Ethan successfully completed and tested
Topic 7...

List of new parts we used:


-Piezo, a piezo is an electronic device that generates a voltage
when it's physically deformed by a vibration, sound wave, or
mechanical strain.

-photo resistor, a photo resistor is a light-controlled


variable resistor.

-10 kilohm resistor

This code displays different pitches for the speaker


to make as well as the intervals, the length of each
note, the frequencys, and the .amount of
repetition in which each note will play using the
given intervals.
