If you currently have the 2012 International Building Code (IBC), you may use that in lieu of purchasing the 2013 IBC because the two codes contain the same
material and the same section numbers with respect to the determining earthquake loads.
Both the CBC and the IBC refer to the ASCE 7-10 for the determination of earthquake loads.
NOTE: Beginning with the April 2014 examination, the 2013 California Building Code (CBC), which is based on the 2012 International Building code (IBC), will be
used.
