Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the

From my preliminary task I have learned a lot in. A huge improvement has being made in my camera skills, composition, planning, editing techniques and team work. In the preliminary task I was asked to create a short continuity film sequence that included the following: Opening a door Using 180 degree rule Shot-reverse-shot Match on action Firstly, having recorded a preliminary task before has encouraged me to feel more confident when moving on to filming a complex film with a storyline throughout and with more planning and structure involved. Secondly, in filming in my preliminary task I learn have so much about camera shots and angles, whereas before I could only name a few, now I can name more than a couple and practise these and apply them. For example, in using a shot-reverse-shot in the preliminary, has helped me in upgrading my skills therefore in the film opening Ive decided to use over the shoulder shots in conversations or dialogue scenes between actors/actresses, in order to achieve a real view when someone is having a conversation, seeing the speaker perspective. The preliminary task has also helped me developing my skills in editing. Never having edited before, Ive learned how to use different software such as Adobe Premiere CS4 and Imovie in order to edit a film opening. A huge difference is shown in my opening film compared to the preliminary, as I believe transitions were used in abetter and efficient way, as scenes flow very well one after the other. Scenes are well cut and trimmed in order to fit with others making the film smooth in the running. Finally, having carried out a preliminary task has helped me how to work as a whole team when producing a film. From both these tasks I have learnt, how important and vital is each group members input from the early stages of planning and researching, right until the final outcome. Ive also learnt the importance in trusting your members and relying on them when needed to get things done. In conclusion, the most important thing Ive learnt was that everyones input is what helped in the final outcome. The actors/actresses were playing their roles, producers and editors, editing and planning and overall everyones ideas and cooperation and everyone believing in each other in being able to achieve and produce a great final piece.
