ife sometimes brings rewards the fast way, sometimes they just take longer to arrive. But I like to keep one thing in my mind: mistaken paradigms and presuppositions I had in life. But above all, made me realize that humanity - just like Einstein suggested a while ago - is not using the entire potential in life. There is so many things to learn, master, and try in this life. Being limited to what my past experiences - and other people - wanted me to be, was simply not the way I was going to live my life. I am thankful I took the time to put this method together to achieve such a great victory over myself! You should give it a try sometime! In this Issue of Alphas Magazine, Donald Currie shares information related to thought control; and he gives you a practice so you can start trying it on your own. We have interesting interviews; with an Anonymous Alpha in the Closet!; and Andrew Meikle, a filmmaker that is doomed to make it big! His insights are revolutionary, and he is just starting. Dear reader... Good things in life should not be just a few, and if you are receiving just a few good things, you will thank us for bringing you the opportunity to change that as soon as possible. After all, it is really in your hands. Wishing you the best,

Can you imagine vividly what your life would be like if you could uninstall behaviours that you do not like?, Uninstall emotions you do not enjoy?, and instead being able to install behaviours and emotions youd rather experience? Can you imagine that, but for real? I have seen it happen in TV shows and even some Hypnotherapists have suggested how cool it would be. Since I had experienced several tools that could be used to potentially attain this goal, I decided to put this to the test. I gathered the practical information, made practices, and started installing behaviours and emotions at will... The result? It takes practice, yes, but it works, oh yes it works! Realizing that this is possible, changed my perception of life in ways that no other course has ever done. It helped me break

mind on a goal, you need a clear and well defined goal. How do you go about that? 1. First, you have to think and find out what is it that you really want to accomplish or gain. This might not be a simple step, and requires deep thinking, investigation and time. 2. Ater discovering what you really want to accomplish, you need to come up with a plan for action. You need to know what you have to do first, and how to proceed. All of this requires planning, which means using the power of the mind.

With minor, day-to-day goals, you know what you want to achieve, but when it
Alphas Mag - Page 14

he mind plays an important role in achieving every success and goal, minor, everyday goals, or major goals.

comes to major goals, it is different. You might have a vague idea, but this is not enough. To accomplish anything, and to use your mind power, you have to know exactly what it is you want to do. In order to focus your

3. After deciding on a goal and coming up with a plan, you need to hold in your mind a clear mental image of your goal. You need to see it accomplished. This step requires that you use your imagination, which is another power of the mind. Not everyone can visualize clear mental images, but regular training of the imagination can do wonders. You may, for example, look at photos of what you want to achieve, and then close your eyes, and try to see it in your imagination. This will enhance your visualization ability. At this point, you have to display patience, self-discipline and persistence.

4. Affirmations are another useful mental tool for achieving success. What you affirm sinks into the subconscious mind, becomes part of the subconscious mind, and consequently, affects your behavior and actions. If your affirmations are positive, they lead you to success. 5. You need to be able to transmit your thoughts to other people, who would aid you with your plans. Often, you have to persuade others to invest in your plans or to help you in other ways. You need to be enthusiastic, persuasive, and believe what you are saying, otherwise they won't listen and won't care. To be able to do so, you need some degree of concentration, the ability to visualize, tact and patience, all being mental skills. 6. Motivation is another mental and emotional power that you require for achieving success. How can you achieve anything if you are not motivated enough? To increase your motivation and enthusiasm, think often of your goal, about its advantages and benefits, and how it will change your life. Doing so, will strengthen your motivation. Your thoughts, which are part of your mind, possess power. The thoughts that you most often think tend to come true. If you pour your mental energy into the same thoughts or mental images day after day, they will become stronger and stronger, and would consequently, affect

your attitude, expectations, behavior and actions. These thoughts and mental images can even be subconsciously perceived by other people, who would then offer you help or opportunities. Your thoughts can also create what is usually termed as coincidence. They can attract into your life corresponding events, situations and opportunities. Not every thought turns into reality. A thought has to be repeated often, and to be saturated with desire, in order to come true. Doubts, fears, and worries, tend to destroy what you build with the power of your mind. This means that you need to clear your mind of negative thoughts and doubts. You might not agree that this is possible, but it is, with the proper training.

y name is Andrew Meikle, I'm 24 years old and I was born in Toronto, Ontario. My background is Jamaican, Scottish, Italian. I graduated from Etobicoke School Of The Arts as a Music Theatre Major. I was an only child until I was about nineteen years old, then my mom had my brother Malakai who is five years old now.

I have been acting and modeling since I was nine years old. I did a fashion show and photo shoot for ROOTS Canada, I was on an episode of the television show "Twice in a lifetime", I've done a milk, subway sandwiches, and toy commercial. I was also, part of the Coke a Cola Olympics campaign for the Vancouver Olympics. Since then I have started my own Independent Production Company "MEIKLE PRODUCTIONS" (MP) With the help of my friends Hess Berrios (Executive Producer), Steven Smyth (Photographer/Photo Editor) and Amanda Moskowitz, Jackie Berrios, and Michelle Smith (Assistant Casting Directors) We have been able to cast and film two feature films.
Alphas Mag - Page 19

Have you had experiences that made you know your future was in the filming industry? Which ones?
When I was in middle school I would always have a notebook on me and I would be writing scripts. It didn't matter what the teacher was teaching I would be writing a movie. By the time I graduated grade eight I had a binder full of at least six film scripts. From that moment on I knew that this is what I wanted to do.

Was there a moment when you told yourself: "This is it, I'm becoming a filmmaker and I'm not looking back? What was happening back then that made you decide so?
The day I started filming my first scene. It was just so amazing to see my characters comes to life right in front of my eyes. Hearing them say the words that I wrote and directing them however I want. I knew that now that I had made one movie, I was never going to stop. There's nothing else that I'd rather be doing.

What actions did you take to ground your dream?

I I

attended Niagara College for Film Production for about a month, but I left because it just wasn't for me. I applied to the Toronto Media and Film College, here in Toronto, and got in. Unfortunately two weeks before school was suppose to start, my program got cancelled. didn't let it get me down thought, I decided to do my own thing. That's where Meikle Productions came in. I posted a casting call on Mandy.com for actors to audition, I searched around for crew. When everyone was picked we started filming my first feature film entitled Consequences.

What are your favourite movies?

If I told you all of them this would turn into a novel (laughs) Just to name a few. I love the Scream Franchise, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Taken(1 and 2), Paranormal Activity, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Cruel Intentions, Chucky, Last House On The Left, House At The End Of The Street, Pitch Perfect, Burlesque, Alvin And The Chipmunks, The Amazing Spiderman, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Hercules, RENT, Hairspray, Friday The 13th, Nightmare On Elm street, The Hills Have Eyes, Bridemaids, and lots more .

And genres?
As you can see from the previous question I do like a variety of different genres, but I'd have to say my all time favourite genre is Horror.

Is there one or movies, that you would love to "remake" if you had the chance? If so, which one(s), and why?
I don't think there's any movies that I would remake, but there is one film I would definitely love to make the next SCREAM film. I have just grown up watching the movies and I really think I would be able to write a kick ass fifth film. Not saying anything against Kevin Williamson (the writer of the previous screams), I would love to work with him in making another movie.

Is there a particular movie that you have identified in a personal way? Which one?
I'm a lot like Dawson from the tv show Dawson's Creek. He knew that he wanted to do film at a young age and he would get his friends together to make films. Which is what I use to do back in high school. The only difference is that he was focusing more on documentaries and I am aiming towards feature films and shorts.

What is your experience when directing actors? You enjoy it?

I love it. Like I said before, there's just something about seeing your work come to life that give me such a thrill. Obviously there are occasions where you get the diva type actors on set which I've had to deal with but it comes with the job. I learned that while filming my first movie, which definitely opened up my eyes as to what to look for in the future.

What kind of actors/actresses are your favourite? (Personality type)

The best kind of actor is someone who is easy going and easy to work with. It makes a difference because if an actor has an ego on set, then it ruins the experience for everyone else. Then that gives them a bad reputation and no one will want to work with you again.

Is there a movie star you would live to work with? And what kind of movie would you like to direct for this movie star?
I would love to work with Nina Dobrev from the hit CW show Vampire Diaries (VD). She has got the whole package. She can act, sing, dance, and she's gorgeous. I think she's an amazing actress and she surprises audiences all the time with her performance on VD. I would love to cast her as a lead in one of my horror films, i think she would be a great heroin. She could definitely be the next Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell in Scream) and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween). So Nina, if you're reading this, give me a call (Laughs)

Regarding filmmaking, If we place on the fighting ring: Regular school & theory VS self taught & practice; which would win in your experience? Why?
To be completely honest, I think self taught and practice wins. Not to discourage anyone from going to school because nowadays you can't get a regular job without a degree. However in terms of The Film Industry, you don't necessarily need to go to school to make a film. There's a lot of people in the industry that I've talked to who taught themselves. In the end, it's all about who you know and networking. I didn't go to school, and I've already filmed two feature films, and thats without mentioning lots of new projects coming up soon.

her examination, she finds out that she is pregnant. Once she has the baby boy (Matty) she realizes she could never love this child, and chooses to kill herself. This forces her parents to raise Matty. Twenty One years later, The Killer is still on the loose, and is now looking for his son. When the killer finds Matty on a cottage trip with his friends, he's not making any more mistakes. This time he's not letting anyone get away. I want this film to be the first mainstream horror movie with a gay couple in it. I've never seen it done before, and I think that now that it's 2013 it SHOULD be done. Especially since there's a very large gay community all over the world. I wanted to portray these characters just as I would a straight couple in the film, because gay couples can be just like straight couples, and the world needs to realize that.

What genres will you be focusing on during your career as filmmaker?

My past two films have been Horrors, but I have started writing some dramas so that Meikle Productions will have a variety of different films.

What did you learn while making it?

I learned lots of different things on the technical side. I had an amazing crew who were very experienced and knew exactly what they were doing, and what needed to be done to make things look better and more real. So while being the director and writer that's all I know how to do, but on this set I got to learn about everything else. Whether it was shooting camera angles, lighting changes, what makeup looks best on film and even what wardrobe choices are better than others. It's all a learning experience and with every film I will learn something new that I can bring to the next.
Alphas Mag - Page 35

Tell us about the film you already finished.

The film is currently called "The One That Got Away", but the name might change. It's about the small town of Springdale; it is being tormented by a serial killer and Abby Jenkins was the only lucky" one who escaped his vicious attack. After

From what you know, what was the experience of the people that worked with you?

orking on The One That Got Away is the best experience of my life. We rented a cottage for ten days in Dorset, Muskoka and we got all of our scenes done in 9 days. The cast and crew of this film were just phenomenal. It was like we were one big family. Everyone worked together and helped each other out. If a cast member had a day off, they would help out with the cooking and cleaning and whatever else needed to be done, it was amazing. I have never worked with such a positive group of people before. Each and every one of them have the same drive and passion towards acting and they all gave 110 percent. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people, the last day of filming was such a sad day. We all wanted to do it all over again.

What is your present time situation, regarding you being attracted to men?
I'm very attracted to men and have been for some time, although I am very conflicted about coming out to friends and family, because most wouldn't be understanding or accepting.

Who knows about your sexual preferences? How did you tell them? How did they react?
To my knowledge, only 2 people know of my preferences. If anyone else actually does it would be because they've seen me online. The first being my ex-girlfriend who hates me and thinks that homosexuality is disgusting, and the other is her brother, who is my best mate, gay, and my boyfriend for a time.

What is your personal opinion about your sexual preferences?

Alphas In the Closet

Interview and Photos by Drakov S Imdezyir An anonymous interview with an insider
Alphas Mag - Page 44

Personally I think that sexual preference is something that should be accepted. There's nothing wrong with liking someone who is the same sex and it should be promoted rather than discouraged and frowned upon.

Have you ever wished you were heterosexual?

Yes, I have actually. When I was first curious about guys I just wanted to shut it out because at the time being straight meant being normal. Today though it doesn't matter that much to me but I still haven't come out to my friends or family.

Alphas Mag - Page 45

Do you have close friends who don't know about this?

Only my ex and her brother know. I do have friends who I could trust enough to tell but it would change an entire friendship that we've had since we were kids and that's something I don't want to change.

Why do you consider them close friends if they may not accept who you are?
Good question, I guess I've just come to the conclusion that it's not that my friends who wouldn't accept me for who I am, but the fact the I haven't fully come to accept who I am.

Would you like to have a relationship or are you happy single?

To be honest I'm no exactly sure. Relationships these days are just too complicated ,and with too much drama and dissent. I am happy single for the most part, but I'm always actively looking for someone; that may sound a bit childish, but I've almost always been satisfied with the relationships I've been in.

Alphas Mag - Page 46

Alphas Mag - Page 47

Alphas Magazine

Have you gotten into situations where you were almost caught?
Not only have I almost been caught, but I have been caught. I was in a relationship with a girl for 3 years. At the time, I was first getting interested in guys; still in high school, and 17 years old. My best friend, who I had thought was straight, and I, were on a competitive swim team together for about 10 years. We were as close as one would expect best friends would be, although it was more than normal, because he was my girlfriend's brother. To add to the confusion a bit more, we saw each other naked almost daily when we were changing before and after practice, usually talking and spending lots of time just standing naked in the locker room. I didn't have a problem with it, neither did he; we'd grown up together. As time went on, I just spent increasing amounts of time looking at his body, which was really hot, and what you'd expect for a swimmer of 10 years, if he noticed, then he didn't say anything. This went on for months. The day we did get caught we were chilling at his house, his family was out and we were watching TV in his room. It's what anyone would expect, he confronted me about looking at him in the change rooms and he also that he'd been doing the same and admitted that he was gay. I said the same thing to him, and it went from there. My girlfriend then walked in on us about half an hour later, although she never told anyone else; my relationship with her stopped the second she saw us.

In the town you grew up, was it easy?

Growing up in my town was pretty good. Although, it was small enough, that as soon as something personal about you came out, everyone knew about it. The second I knew I liked men everything was instantly different. Sneaking around, and hoping to contain a secret that would not only single me out, but my family too, since my family was well known and influential in the community.

Alphas Mag - Page 48

Alphas Mag - Page 49

What are your parents like? What makes you think they would not approve it?
My parents are kind, caring and compassionate people. Although that may be, my dad would have a very difficult time coming to accept that I'm attracted to men, which would cause a big rift between myself and the rest of the family. However I do think that my mom would be very accepting if I came out to her. At some point I may confess to them but may situation with my family and parents, again, is something that I don't want to ruin.

Your parents had an expectation for you that you are not able to fulfill; If the tables would turn... Would you be understating, if facing a situation where they can't deliver something very important for you (like paying your school or looking after your needs)?
Yes, I think I would, although it would depend entirely on the context of the situation. However for the most part I am and understanding guy who can adapt to most situations that are thrown at me.

How could you let them know you still love them if that happened?
I would tell them openly. I'm a very vocal person and will speak my mind if need be. I'm not one to keep my mouth shut if something is bothering me or if something is on my mind. If for whatever reason they couldn't deliver on something important I'd tell them don't worry about it I'll make do and that I still love you guys.

If you could come out to your parents... What words would you use to help them understand your situation and stay close as a family?
I would just ask my parents to love me as they had before, and not change anything in the way they'd interacting with me, but try to be accepting as possible, because this was a life choice that they would have no control over. And whether or not they accepted it, it would still be something that they would be living with for the remainder of their lives.

Alphas Mag - Page 50

Alphas Mag - Page 51

Alphas Magazine

What would you like to add for the Alphas readers that are in your situation?
Hmmmm... Well, to the other Alphas readers I would say that if you are in a situation similar to mine, don't rush anything. Don't come out of the closet because you feel as though it's destroying a part of your life; do it because you want to and that you feel that it's the right time for it. Although if a situation presents itself, take advantage of it. If your family or friends are suspicious and they ask you about it, be honest because lying doesn't help and almost always makes it worse.

12 Ways to Promote Yourself on Social Networks

By Drakov S Imdezyir

The initiative for any online campaign should be to create and maintain a presence in social networks. 1. Include icons leading to social media accounts: You can put various icons leading to your social media accounts right on your website, giving users easier access to your social media channel. Make sure not to overload your website with them though, pick the ones you use most often and use those icons. If your users see the icons, theyll be more likely to click on them and check out your social media.

email address, your users have a universal way to contact you and you can make it easier on yourself by not juggling multiple addresses. 4. Show who you are: When posting an article on your blog or updating your about page, add an internet business card showing your identity. You can develop this via a plug in or with code development and it can be added to be your email signature as well. This will put a face and name to your articles and your readers will be able to identify with you easier. 5. Use widgets: Another key to social media management is to show that youre active in your networks to your readers or customers. You can use a widget or plug in that will include these on your blog or website and theyre typically put on the right side of the screen. By showing your online presence, theres a chance it will attract more interest in your social media networks. 6. Link your accounts: Going through your Facebook news feed sometimes youll see status updates that have been updated from Twitter. Some channels have picked up on the importance of linking activities to be more effective. You can post to Facebook or LinkedIn from other social media channels to help save you time and keep everything concentrated.

7. Place links in your About page: Your About page is a place for you to include information about yourself, who you are, what your background is, and a way for people to contact you. This is an excellent place to add links to your social media pages. This makes it more likely for them to be visited if your readers are interested in your work. 8. Encourage users to visit social media sites: You can increase your online presence by letting your readers and customers know about your social media profiles in posts. You can link to your Twitter account in a Facebook post and vice versa. On Twitter, include links to your Facebook, LinkedIn, website, email, etc. Let your users know that there are endless ways to see you online.

platform to stay in contact with fans and followers. 10. Write posts frequently and consistently. Write two to three posts a week on both Facebook and Twitter. Writing two to three posts a week keeps content fresh and up to date, which keeps fans and followers interested. Search Engines also rank sites based on up to date content. 11. Vary the information you post on Facebook and Twitter. Post content varying from videos, pictures, helpful hints and tips, news, updates, new products or services ordered, sales and promotions, contests, events, and jokes to anything else youd like. Posting interesting and relevant information will keep fans and followers interested and coming back, and will also draw in new fans and followers. 12. Consistently work to gain more fans and followers. Brainstorm new ways of pulling in new fans and followers. The more fans and followers your company has, the more people you will reach with your posts, and the more accreditation your company will have when internet users are searching for products and services your company orders.

2. Include contact info in email signatures: By placing your contact info in your email signature you make yourself much more accessible to your customers and give them a way to talk to you directly. Use internet contact info though, like your social media channels, dont divulge more personal info than you want your customers to have. 3. Try to use one email address: With your multiple social media accounts it might be tempting to create an email address for each one. This might confuse your users and they might not be sure which email to send to. By using one

Thought Stopping: Release Negative Thinking Fast!

houghts are a lot like leaves traveling down a stream. They continually drift and float by. Some leaves are green. These are the fresh leaves that have just fallen from the tree and are still alive. Then there are the old dead leaves that are brown and withered. Positive and negative thoughts. We all have them. Anywhere from

12,000 to 50,000 thoughts per day. Research by Charlie Greer of the National Science foundation discovered that the average person thinks about 12,000 a day while a deep thinker can reach 50,000. On top of this, it has been estimated that of those, 70-80% of those thoughts are negative. If someone is having a bad day, this number can be even higher.

s much of our thoughts and thinking is habitual, our mind is wired to thinking these negative thoughts.

into more positive thinking, mindfulness and awareness is the first step. Once you are aware of the negative thoughts, it is then beneficial to work to correct the thought to a more positive way of thinking. There is a very powerful method of doing so using hypnosis. This is referred to as the thought stopping method. Thought stopping allows greater control of your thoughts and thinking. When you develop an awareness of a thought that is undesirable, you are able to stop the thought and then replace it with a desirable positive thought. While this takes a bit of practice at first, eventually it becomes easier with repetition. In my experience with clients, if it is practiced appropriately, eventually the mind begins to think the positive thought automatically. We know that the benefits that positive thinking provides are numerous. It's good for the mind, body and feelings. It helps people cope better with stress, remain more relaxed and have a much better mood on a day to day basis. Research has even shown the positive effects of positive thinking on health. Researchers Segerstrom and Sephton discovered that people who are optimistic had stronger immune systems that those with negative outlooks on a situation.

If you think for a moment about bike trails in the forest that are used daily, the trail becomes engrained within the earth. As more and more people use the trail the more it becomes engrained in the earth. If you were to drive off road into the forest, it would be difficult because you would be attempting to create a new path. All the vegetation and leaves would make it difficult. But through repeated journeys eventually a new path would be created. This is very much like our thinking. The negative thoughts are like the trail that has been traveled down many times. When we work to think more positively we are creating a new trail! Another way of seeing it, is that the mind is like a garden. Negative thoughts are like weeds, positive thoughts like flowers. You dont water the weeds in a garden, you pull them out. Then you can tend to the flowers giving them the attention, love and care that they need to flourish and grow. How aware are you of what you are thinking each and every second of each and every day? It would take constant mindfulness and awareness of every thought to be certain. And how aware are you of the fact that what you are thinking is creating your reality. In order to change negative thinking

Thought Stopping Process

1. First, cultivate mindfulness over your thoughts. You need to be more consciously aware and be on the lookout for negative thinking and beliefs 2. When you become aware of a negative thought or belief, tell yourself three times " I choose to stop this thought ". You may even visualize the words melting away like blocks of ice. 3. Next, repeat to yourself a positive thought, belief or statement that you would like to override the negative thought with. Repeat this to yourself three times while taking deep breaths. 4. Notice how much better you feel after doing this. 5. Practice this daily and in a few weeks time, you will notice a marked improvement in your state of mind.

n Narrative Inquiry, there is the overlapping characteristic that stories of our own share commonalities to the stories of others that live very different lives from our own. As I read through Marcs story, I noticed a similar feel to his story as one of my own that I had written before taking my PhD, while pursuing my Masters degree. Even though my story is very different than Marcs, the words come together in a very romantic and magical way. How we string sentences together by the choice of words we use, can tell us a great deal about how we feel about something without necessarily coming out and saying whether or not we like something.

Antoines
narrative.

In some cases, we might consciously think we like something, but in actuality, the way we write about it can teach us that perhaps we might really feel differently. It is in the analysis of our stories that we can learn a great deal regarding our true likes and dislikes regarding something. I have decided to share my story about downhill skiing, as a means of allowing you, the reader, the ability to witness how both stories seem to carry a certain level of magic with the words in which both Marc and I chose to write our stories regarding my passion towards downhill skiing, and his love for playing the piano.

Life... My narrative

Here is my story regarding downhill skiing This is where it all begins... I glide away to the lift and take that deep breath of fresh air. The distant clinging of the lift in the background tells me that, even though it has been a long five days, I am finally back at home. I make my way to the lift and wish the lift attendant an enthusiastic, Good morning! He shakes his head and says, I wish I could be out skiing today. I reply by saying, Well at least youll be working outside instead of inside. Up the lift I go, and notice that the snowfall from last night must have been wet and sticky, for all the branches of the evergreen trees are loaded with mounds of snow, heavily weighing them down. I chuckle to myself wondering why people would buy postcards of trees looking just like these, when all they have to do is come out here to see it on a regular basis. As the cable on the lift drags me up the hill, I approach tower number two. The cable begins to vibrate as it approaches the bogie wheels and some snow is loosened as it cascades down onto me. I give my face a wipe, shake out the snow from around my neck, pick the snow out from my gloves, and away I go to tower number three. Even though it is -22 degrees Celsius, the sun is out in full force with nothing but uninterrupted blue sunny skies. As I reach the top of the hill, I wave to the lift attendant and away I skate to the uppermost peak of the hill. A most spectacular view from the top of the hill as the landscape is completely flat. The more seasoned veterans always comment at how lucky we are to have this hill, as it is

the only protrusion high enough to sustain a viable ski hill. Not a huge hill, but being able to ski on the south, west, and east sides of it provides the luxuries of hiding from the winds on those bitterly cold days, and capturing the suns rays from morning to night. The tiller that grooms the hill consists of several razor blades that will relentlessly break up ice patches into a texture resembling whipped cream. A heavy plastic covering will take the freshly mulched snow, moulding it into a groove-like structure resembling that of corduroy pants. Most seasoned skiers characterize this heavenly surface as, The corduroy. As I pole toward that corduroy, I am so excited that I am one of about three people on the hill and I could possibly get three, maybe even four runs in before it is tracked out. After advancing down the hill a few meters, it is time for my first turn. As I glide into my first turn, my skis make a soft, vibrating sound that sends shivers through my legs, up into my spine, and out through my neck. Gliding across this surface gives a sense of safety, for there is no ice or anything loose to throw you out of balance. A rush of euphoria enters every dimension of my body as I make my way down the slope, feeling as though I am living in nothing less than a dream. The loading zone for the chairlift on the west side of the hill is fast approaching as I make a final turn to the left and to the right. The west side of the lift does not have a dirty parking lot with loud cars driving here and there, nor does it have a chalet with speakers spewing the greatest hits from the 80s. I make my way to be seated on the chairlift, making sure not

to sit in the middle of the chairlift where grease and oil tends to ooze down onto your ski suit. With my head turned slightly to the right, I crouch down and wait as the chair makes its way around the wheel. Once around the wheel, the attendant breaks the chair, preventing it from jolting you from behind as it takes you away. Unlike the T-bar, the chairlift is quite smooth as it glides higher and higher and makes its way to the bogie wheels at the first tower. I was always fascinated at how the cable would stretch as more people were added to the lift. This was especially apparent at the bottom, as the tension to lift the chairs up and over that first tower always exerted tremendous pressure pulling relentlessly on the bogie wheels. Add to that, the swaying caused from people getting on the chair which caused the chairs on the cable to bounce, making that first tower all the more dramatic and exciting to watch. As I am effortlessly whisked up to the top of the hill, my mind begins to take me to different places. Much like a leaf blowing around in the wind, my thoughts will flip from one idea to another. The squirrel as it scurries from one tree to another or how the wind is causing the nearby trees to creak and crack as they sway from side to side. In another instant, my mind gets thrown in another direction where I am reminded about how I dont fit in at school and how I am already dreading going back to school on Monday morning. Just then, I am whipped into a whirlwind of thoughts. I begin to think about how I represent just one moment in the world and that there are many other moments happening across the globe at the same time. Thoughts about what I am going to eat for lunch and where I will sit to get a good view of the hill enter my mind. Just then, thoughts about how my parents had been in an argument the night before and how I feel upset that mom is giving dad the silent treatment. Regardless o f who was right and who was wrong, I pray to God wishing that they do not split up. Seeing my parents argue was devastating, as my only wish was for them

to be happy. My thoughts continue to dance around in my mind as the chairlift continues up to the top of the hill. As the lift approaches the top of the hill, I put my goggles back on, put my hands through the straps of my poles, lift up the safety bar, and prepare to unload from the lift. As I stand up and push off from the lift, you get a most amazing view of the east sides horizon. Unlike the south and west side of the hill which are covered in a carpet of trees , this side exposes a barren swamp-like area littered with dead trees from an underground mining project that starved the roots of the minerals it needed to survive. My days at the hill represented an escape where I had the freedom to explore and the ability to lose myself in my thoughts. I loved to think as a child, not something that very many friends my age enjoyed to do. When I was thinking about the different aspects of life, almost everyone else was into everything except thinking. Just as my desk represented a sanctuary where I could be with myself, the ski hill represented that disconnect from places where I could not connect to others. The dynamics associated with being part of a ski club, a racer for the local ski team, and later a coach for the team, and an instructor for ski school,

turned out to be that place where meaningful friends provided that bridge to social interaction and development. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to head south to Blue Mountain with some friends. Working a full-time job for the past four years, while juggling full-time studies is not very forgiving if I were to decide to go to the hill on the weekends. A trip to a ski hill was most important of all priorities for this reading week. Since I spent many weekends ski racing at clubs in the Collingwood area, the drive out to this area was a special one. Just as I would get lost in my own thoughts at the hill or at my desk at school, I remembered listening to music and thinking about so much while driving on the side roads in and around the Collingwood area. It wasnt the racing itself that I enjoyed so much, but the time away from school and my independence was what I appreciated so much more. Taking note of the same things that I observed as a child was a treat. It was like I hadnt grown up, and even though times are now very different, it felt as though I was that eleven year old all over again. Shortly after getting to the hill, our lift tickets were purchased and away we went up the lift to take our first run. The first thing I noticed was the sound of the chairlift and the scraping and carving of boarders and skiers as they made their way down the hill. It felt as though those sounds had been preserved and frozen in time, as they sounded exactly the way I remembered hearing them as a child. At the top of the hill, a stunning view of Georgian Bay on the sunniest of days. Signs of spring as large portions of ice had sunk below the surface where water now resided on top. Soon after my first run, something seemed to be missing from the trip. I simply dismissed these feelings, thinking it was something out of my control. Despite this unsettling feeling, I continued to ski and socialize with the group. After being out on the hill for a couple of hours, the group decided to spend some time in the boarder park to take a few jumps in the half-pipe. Instead of breaking a bone, dislocating a shoulder, or tearing

a ligament, I decided to take a few runs on my own. That was when it happened! I hadnt taken more than a run, and a rush of adrenaline entered from every part of my body. I felt that I was connected to the hill like I was as a child. All my worries of balancing my studies with running the store completely melted away. The sky looked bluer, the snow like the icing on a cake, and the air as sweet as sugar. In that moment, everything faded away and yet everything seemed charged with vibrancy. I carved into the snow like teeth biting into ice cream and transitioning from one turn to the next, as if I were gliding across a dance floor. As the sun collapsed off into the distance, the lights to ski at night made me feel as though I were on centre stage. The benefits associated with understanding the origins from which our talents germinate and sprout provide meaning as to why we value what we value. Making better sense of our lives is about bringing to light certain aspects that may have gone unnoticed for years and blindly accepted into our lives. Appreciating the many different layers and depths regarding the meaning behind our lives is a critical component when going a step further and providing meaning and purpose behind our existence. 50 Video Ideas
videointerweb.com

by Kyle McGuigan

yourself talking to your friends and family about things that happen in the news? Well, make a video about it, and youll have lots of other people listening to you as well! 7. Celebrities This can go into recent events as well, but celebrities are always doing something crazy or stupid (or both!) talk about what happened, what you think about it, and ask others to comment on what they think. 8. Tutorials Is there something that you know how to do that other people WISH they could do? Make a video on HOW to do it (make steps, like step 1 step 2 etc.). 9. Parody Are you funny? Can you make something funny? Make a parody video, music video, or skit about an event, celebrity, song, and make it funny, and people will watch it, AND share it. 10. Music Video Whether it is a parody, or your own music, or just something funny, make a cool music video that is creative, and

post it! 11. Shoutout Video Dont go overboard with this, or over bored with this What I mean is, dont make too many videos like this, because people usually dont like them too much. But hey, make a video where you shout out or give promotion to other video makers. You never know, they might see your video and make one about you! 12. Dancing Video Do you break dance? Are you good at hip hop, ballroom, or any other type of dance? Make a video showcasing your skills! However, DO NOT make a video of you just shaking your ass, especially if you are underage. The only viewers you will attract will be men between the ages of 25 70. Its been proven. Just trust me, you dont want to make a softp0rn video, you want to showcase actual SKILLS you have with dancing. 13. Rant Videos Something bothering you? Do you think other people will have somewhat of the same opinion?

Some people actually love hearing other people rant. Just dont HATE on people though, actually go into detail about the things that bother you. 14. Impersonations This can be a strict impersonation video, where you impersonate a celebrity or actor/actress. Or, you can make this into a skit or even a song, all while you do your best impersonation. 15. Game-play Are you a GAMER? Do you have skills, or even just like to have fun while gaming? Make a video of some of your best game-play for a particular game, and instead of ONLY playing for yourself, youll have other people watching you play as well and they may learn a thing or two. 16. Special Effects Are you good with editing and special effects? It doesnt matter! There are hundreds and thousands of great tutorials on special effects. Follow along with what other people have done, and make your own special effects video!
Alphas Mag - Page 129

There are a lot of videos like this on YouTube, and in order to really make your videos shine is to make your videos the best quality they can be, make it BETTER than the other persons video, and maybe combine some video ideas together!

1. Blog Just talk to the camera about your day, or something funny or interesting that happened today or the other day. 2. Skit / Short Movie Have a funny idea in your head? Write out a rough script, and make it a short film! 3. Artsy Do you like to paint, draw, make crafts, or create in general? Make a video of you MAKING something! People love
Alphas Mag - Page 128

watching these videos, as many other artists like being inspired. 4. Talk about art Even if you cant paint a nice portrait, if art interests you enough to read about it, why dont you talk about different types of art? Other art enthusiasts, fans, and students will watch your video if it is simple, sweet, to the point, AND informative.

5. Music Do you sing? Maybe you play the piano or guitar? Maybe you even make beats! Anything related to music, you can either post a video of you singing or playing an instrument, or even just post your song with some album artwork as an image for the entire video. 6. Recent Events Did something happen in the news that you just HAVE to talk about? Do you find

Alphas Magazine

17. Concerts / Events Are you going to a concert, a show, or something that other people are going to or WANT to go to? Film parts of it, and upload it with your title being the name of the event. People who went, and even people who didnt go but wanted to will be searching for this stuff. 18. Interviews Do you know some cool people? Maybe a DJ, music artist, designer, artist, etc.? Do a little off-the-ball interview for people to get to know this person. 19. Question / Answer Video Make a video where you let your visitors ask you questions (in the comment section), and then tell them youll make an answers video in a week or so you get 2 videos for the price of 1! 20. Animation Video Make an animation! Spend a couple hours on it, or spend a few weeks on it! The better it looks, the more views it will probably get. Even if you dont know how to animate, watch some tutorials, and do what they do!
Alphas Mag - Page 130

21. Slideshows Anyone can take a pretty good photograph, right? Take your photographs, and make them a slideshow! Even make multiple videos for different categories of pictures. 22. Video Montage Similar to a slideshow, a video montage can be video clips as well as photos, with music in the background. Make your own video montages it can consist of videos youve already made, or a specific category, like beaches, or a specific city, or if you skate, you can make a skating video montage of tricks. 23. Reviews Review a new product or something you JUST got! Other people want to know how this product works, what it does, ALL the details! 24. Unboxing Videos For some reason, people LOVE unboxing videos. Make a video of you unboxing a product (opening up the box and packaging), and show every angle and tell every detail about the product.

25. Slow Motion Make a video in slow motion could be popping a balloon, smashing an old guitar, slapping someone in the face anything that could be even funnier in SLOWMO. 26. Fast Motion (timelapse) Make videos 10X or more speed, whether it is traffic in the city (or just driving), or a painting, or a sunset, or anything else you can think of. 27. FOOD! Everyone has a favorite meal. Do you know how to make it? Show other people you making (and eating) your favorite meal. 28. Film the entire thing, and speed up the footage to about a minute or two, and show the timelapse of you putting it together. 29. Magic Tricks Whether you are a pro magician / illusionist, or if you just know a cool trick or two, make a video about it! 30. POV Video Make a

video from the point of view of yourself (or a made-up character). Do something funny, or go through a funny scenario. Either hold the camera right in front of you, or better yet tape it to your head for the video! 31. Beatbox, SFX, Sounds Make your own beatbox, sound effects, or play a few notes on an instrument. Then edit them so they are all their own clips, and fit them together to make your own song, all from your own sounds! 32. CONTEST! If you have a big enough following, make a contest where people have to make video responses to you doing something, and whoever is the best wins (set a time for when you will announce the winner!). 33. GIVEAWAY! Similar to a contest, a giveaway is simply you giving something away, for free. But its not something where people or you vote on whos the best or anything its more of leave a comment and youre entered, and you pick out of the hat, and

whoever you pick wins. 34. Narration Make a video where you dub a voiceover and narrate your own thoughts. This can go for anything! You can even think of some crazy ideas and make a funny skit out of it. 35. Story Time Tell your viewers a funny or interesting story about yourself (try to stay away from sadness, you dont want other people to remember that depressed video guy, right?) 36. Polls Ask people questions, and tell them to respond and write their answers as comments (or better yet, video responses!). 37. Dub / Voiceover Either give a voice to an inanimate object (or something like a baby or pet that doesnt talk), and pretend you are talking to them, and voiceover (or even just post words) what they would be saying. 38. Stop-motion Take a picture, move a couple inches, take another picture.

Do this a few hundred or thousand times, put all the pictures together, and make it into a video (you can do some really fun stuff with stop motion videos). 39. Hidden Camera Pretend that you are doing something wrong, and have a hidden camera filming the entire thing. Then pretend as if you JUST notice the camera, and flip out as if you didnt know it was there. 40. Act Show off your acting skills. Put some dramatic music behind it too (or funny music, or suspenseful or scary). 41. Comedy Dont have enough time to do standup comedy at shows, bars, and events? Do a stand-up routine on camera, and upload it for hundreds, thousands, even millions to see! 42. Re-enact Old Shows or Movies Re-enact a scene from a show, maybe even a cartoon, or something from a famous movie. Put your own spin on it too! 43. PSA (Public Service Announcement) Is there

a cause or fund you want more people to know about? Make a video talking about why its so great, and why more people should donate or become a part of it. 44. Advertise / Promotion Video If you have a website, facebook, twitter, or anything like that; Make a video about it, and make it fun, maybe give away something for free so it doesnt sound boring. 45. Battle Scars Talk about some cool scars you have, and invite people to share their own stories of their

Can Kindle Work on Multiple Devices?

mazon's Kindle allows you to use one account and have a book on multiple Kindle devices. It's also possible to have the books on non-Amazon devices running the Kindle application. Some books impose limits on the number of devices on which you can have a book at the same time, though this varies from book to book.

Accounts The Kindle works through your Amazon account; the same account you use to buy physical products from Amazon. Each Kindle must be linked to a particular Amazon account, which is then used for payment if and when you buy books on the Kindle itself. You can link your account to multiple Kindles. After buying a book through Amazon, download the book to your Kindle at any time and delete it from that Kindle at any time. Deleting a book from one Kindle does not prevent you from downloading it to, or keeping it on, another Kindle using the same account. Multiple people can use the same account by sharing the ID of the account and the password. This means two people can each read the same book on their own Kindles, even though only one of them has bought it. Other Devices Wireless devices, including smartphones and tablets, can access Kindle titles using the Kindle app. Desktop and notebook computers can also access Kindle titles through an application. You must link each device running the Kindle application to a specific Amazon account, just as you link your Amazon account with individual Kindles. Syncing You can synchronize multiple devices that share a Kindle account. To do this, make sure you are connected wirelessly (with the

Kindle) or online (with other devices) when you finish a reading session. This keeps the account up to date. As long as you do this, any time you open a Kindle book, you go automatically to the furthest page in the book to which you have read across all your Kindles and other devices -- a tremendous convenience for those reading one book on multiple devices. If more than one person is reading the same book on devices linked to the same account, however, this can be annoying. The solution is log in to your Amazon account and visit the "Manage Your Kindle" page to switch off the synchronization. Limits Each book defines a limit of how many devices are linked to the same account. The standard limit is six, but some publishers insist on a lower limit; which is stated when you buy the e-book. This typically isn't a problem, but you may hit the limit if you replace your Kindle and other devices. You can resolve this by deregistering a Kindle or device, for example, one that you no longer use, through the Amazon website. If you deregister, the books from the account are no longer available on the deregistered device, but can be added to a new Kindle linked to your account. As long as a specific device is linked to your account, you can download purchased books as often as you like, even after deleting them from the device. Books From Other Sources You can manually add some electronic books, bought and downloaded from sources other than Amazon, to a Kindle. These are not subject to any limits other than the available storage space. However, these books must be added to each Kindle individually, regardless of whether the Kindles share an Amazon account.

About the book Courage: The Joy of Living Dangerously Written by Osho

ourage is not the absence of fear, says Osho. It is, rather, the total presence of fear, with the courage to face it. This book provides a bird's-eye view of the whole terrain--where fears originate, how to understand them, and how to find the courage to face them. In the process, Osho proposes that whenever we are faced with uncertainty and change in our lives, it is actually a cause for celebration. Instead of trying to hang on to the familiar and the known, we can learn to enjoy these situations as opportunities for adventure and for deepening our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. The book begins with an in-depth exploration of the meaning of courage and how it is expressed in the everyday life of the individual. Unlike books that focus on heroic acts of courage in exceptional circumstances, the focus here is on developing the inner courage that enables us to lead authentic and fulfilling lives on a day-to-day basis. This is the courage to change when change is needed, the courage to stand up for our own truth, even against the opinions of others, and the courage to embrace the unknown in spite of our fearsin our relationships, in our careers, or in the ongoing journey of understanding who we are and why we are here. Courage also features a number of meditation techniques specifically designed by Osho to help people deal with their fears.

This book is written in a woman-male relationship mode, however, I was surprised on the similarities they have compared to unhealthy relationships in the gay world. Are you in a relationship that you no longer desire? * Is your partner clingy, jealous, controlling, and manipulative? *Do you keep trying end it, but can't because you fear hurting him? Your partner isn't necessarily a bad person, but your relationship is toxic. Many men gradually come to find that their partner is a control freak, emotionally abusive, or even has an undiagnosed mental disorder (such as bipolar or narcissistic personality disorder). It's OK to stay with a flawed partner that has some challenges, but you have a right to leave any relationship that drives you crazy. In fact, it's your obligation to leave such a relationship; staying out of guilt, fear or pity is never good for either partner. The type of relationship you're in is not healthy. It's emotionally draining and leads to nothing but persistent stress. But I'm sure I don't need to tell you that. You know first-hand: * The constant tension in your head * The tightening of your stomach when she's mad * Having your words and actions criticized and turned against you * Feeling your nerves jump at her bouts of irrational anger and jealousy That kind of relationship is never fun, loving, or (least of all) sexy. In fact, the chronic stress from such a toxic relationships can put your health at risk, and you may already be familiar with the symptoms: Frequent headaches, digestive problems (including ulcers), chronic fatigue, sleep problems, depression, and premature aging, balding... But it's not just the stress. How much have you sacrificed in your personal, financial and career life for this relationship? Are you going to continue to stay out of fear? No matter how clingy he is... No matter how guilty you feel... No matter how scared you are... No matter how much you think he's going to freak out... YOU CAN LEAVE!

The Art of Persuasion: How to Move Minds by Jim Randel

Want to learn the art of persuasion? Want to get people to agree with you more and win the various Persuasive Encounters we all have in life? Want to get your way more often? You can if you get this book and apply the information it presents! Youll find it a fun, fact filled and fast to read book that will provide you with solid information on how to persuade others more easily to your way of thinking. Youll also learn how the tools of persuasion and influence are being used on you. I really enjoyed this book. The format, the content and way the information was presented was different than any other book Ive read, and I read a lot of them. Written in a cartoon format, with two cartoons to a page, it was easy to read through the pages at a fast clip - I was able to read it cover to cover in about an hour, which is the length of time in which the book is designed to be read. The format and delivery style made it easy to absorb the lessons being taught. Best of all, the content is solid and based on scientific research and facts. There is a small, but concise bibliography in the back, in my book a necessary part of any book claiming to be based on scientific principles and research. Having read most of the books in the bibliography I can attest that anyone wishing to delve more deeply into the subject of persuasion will be more than happy with the references provided here. The best thing about this book is that it has distilled much weightier tomes on the subject into an easily read and digested format. Lets face it, todays generation, brought up on video games, MTV and sound bytes simply doesnt read as much as older generations do. They are used to getting their information in a much different, more condensed manner that translates well to computers, and mobile devices like the iPhone, the PSP and iPad.

The impact that fear, anger, and jealousy have on our lives How emotions like guilt, insecurity, and fear are used to manipulate us How to break out of unhealthy responses to strong emotions How to transform destructive emotions into creative energy The role of society and culture on our individual emotional styles Oshos unique insight into the human mind and heart goes far beyond conventional psychology. He teaches us to experience our emotions fully and to deal with them creatively in order to achieve a richer, fuller life.

What is it about?
Most people go through life without creating it, without putting something in it. The result is comparable to having empty glass and wanting to drink something out of it. The people that have achieved goals and are able to maintain successful lives, have in their own glass the drink they select. Others notice there is something to experience inside that glass as opposed to nothing at all. They somehow have discovered and put into action a few of the secrets to fill up their glass, and the best of these people, are able to keep it full. H. James Wilson says in his article Dont live your life, Lead it: Its far more likely that you and the people who influence you use the former. There are 90 times more Google hits today for I live my life than I lead my life. Moreover, live life has been inexorably increasing in popularity over the last century. Leading life is a prerequisite of personal and professional growth. When we lead our lives, we set a vision and intentionally resolve to advance from a lower state to a higher state. We are not resigning to live life as it is. Why would someone want to gain control over their personality and behaviours? The answer to this question is a big as the number of people living on Earth. Some examples: -Some may not want to change everything, but just a little. -Some may want to change behaviours that are product of a past they had no control over, but now, they are ready to let it go and start new experiences. -There will be those who want to do it just for fun; they want to experience life from many great perspectives. -The most important reason... Is you own. What could be your reason to be how you want to be? Mind Styling Personality Design is here to help you achieve it, giving you the exact method and techniques for you to uninstall and install behavious at will. Train yourself... and live your dream. This is your time, this is your life, and you are about to play it as such. Smile!
