Karamtara is into Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Sector since inception. Transmission line SBU is the primary and largest business vertical of the Company. It manufactures entire range of transmission line towers used in power Transmission & Distribution (T&D), having manufacturing facility at Boisar, Tarapur, Dist Thane with a fabrication and galvanizing capacity of 90000 MT per annum thereby making Karamtara as one of the largest tower manufacturing facility in India under one roof. With more than a decade of proven excellence, it has capabilities to design, manufacture and supply transmission lines up to 1,200 kV. It has a prequalification upto 765 kV from all the big customers including Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). It has successfully supplied over 400000 MT of transmission line towers in more than 25 countries. Initially intended to manufacture transmission line towers, today this SBU produces and galvanizes telecommunication Towers as well as sub- station structures and Microwave Towers. It has state of the art fabrication equipment such as CNC machines from FICEP, Italy. We take great pride in our well trained , skilled & specialized engineers and technicians. Our manufacturing processes involve punching, cutting, and stamping, notching, welding, drilling, bending and hot dip galvanizing. It has galvanizing baths of varying capacities and its galvanising technology ensure meeting customised requirements of its fastidious clients. Its processes ensure high quality levels and productivity. Our facility is amongst the most modern manufacturing facilities in the country. We are also in the process of commissioning another rolling mill, which will enhance capacity by 50000 MT taking total capacity to 150000 MT per annum. In 2011, as a part of strategic growth, Karamtara acquired 100% shares of the company.
