Created a cohort based transitional program for first generation students of color, primarily aimed at Black/African
American students focused on student success, leadership, and identity development, which will be piloted with 10-15
students in Fall 2015
Advise and coach five Student Diversity Center student staff on leadership development, programming, goal setting, and
problem solving
Authored a retention research paper, with programmatic suggestions, on challenges faced by students of color and
first generation students inhibiting persistence and academic success
Assist in planning and assessing 2-3 developmental programs a month that examine power dynamics, explore and
honor cultural identities, and facilitate student success
Design, conduct, and analyze quantitative and qualitative evaluations and assessments for multiple campus wide inclusion
trainings and programs per semester. Prepare research and assessment reports for departmental and divisional use
Assist with department and divisional assessment efforts including a focus on assessment of DSA student leadership
trainings for learning outcomes associated with multicultural competence

Coordinator | Volunteer Programs

Supervised six undergraduate student coordinators while facilitating their development as leaders and engaged citizens.
Advised and coached them around career planning, academic issues, goal setting, and personal wellness
Co-led the design and facilitation of departmental student staff training focused on leadership development for 12-16
student coordinators with a large start-up training and subsequently monthly trainings
Redesigned assessment processes and evaluated the effectiveness of programing through aligning learning outcomes
with CAS standards, creating program-level direct and indirect instruments, communicating results with students and
other campus stakeholders, and using the data to improve practice
Instituted an online volunteer management system which increased participation in volunteer programs and allowed for
improved data tracking and assessment
Created more educationally impactful volunteer programs through needs assessments for students and community
partners, creation of program level learning outcomes, and improved training for peer leaders
Organized and managed three budgets of almost $300,000 coming in at or below budget both years.
Partnered with over 130 community agencies to improve service opportunities for students and the outcomes for the
community partners
Managed all aspects of the Alternative Service Break program (150-200 students) with Winter, Spring and Summer teams
serving domestically and internationally, with subsequent increases in applications and participation
Improved the ASB program by creating a comprehensive training curriculum rooted in leadership development
and social justice, instituting a scholarship initiative to increase participation and representation from more diverse
students, adding regional trips at a lower cost to students, developing a more in depth and holistic training for student
leaders and advisors, and centering each trip on a specific justice issue
Authored successful Presidents Higher Education Community Service applications in 2013 (Honor Roll with
distinction,) and in 2012 (Honor Roll)
Started on-campus food pantry to serve the high number of students dealing with food security issues

Created a leadership and professional development workshop series for Campus Recreation student staff with at least

Planned, promoted and organized 2-3 Campus Recreation special events a month which included Late Night at the Rec,
Rec Fair, Vandal Friday, and various other events
Managed departmental marketing and promotions which included creating 4-5 design projects per week (web, print,
digital, and video), developing new department logo and brand guidelines, and providing consultation for other staff
Oversaw and executed the departments social media presence growing three Facebook pages from followers in the low
hundreds to over 1,000 each
