Objective
I wanted this project to act as a welcome packet for people visiting Jurassic Park.
Themes and designs are influenced by the movies for the most realistic feel.
Process
This project includes a brochure for the park, a visitor and car pass, and a map of the
park. My first step was to sketch out some ideas of what I wanted the final project
to look like. After I got an idea of what I wanted everything to look like, I started
building paper models. These models allowed me to see how moving parts would
work together, and where everything would need to be placed. I tried to get
measurements on paper as exact as I could so that it would help limit the
amount of times I needed to print the project. I recreated the iconic
logo so that I could use the vector graphic in any spot I needed it.
Illustrator was my main tool in creating this project.

Objective
This project is to advertise an event held by a non-profit organization. This event is all
about spreading kindness; I wanted to illustrate that idea through the image.
Process
My first step in this project was to find an image that conveyed the message I wanted it
to. When I had my image, I looked for lines and colors that stood out that would make
a good base to build the rest of the project on. Since the logo that I was using had
blue in it, and the imagehad the same kind of blue as well, I used that color to
print my headline. The text containing event information in the bottom
left corner follows the lines of the staircase and is the same color as
well. After I had all of my text on the page, I worked with sizing
and fonts to make sure everything was spaced out properly and
nothing was crowded.

Objective
Creating a business card for an internation non-profit organization.
Process
Using a logo that gave the impression of international work, I wanted that card to also
play a part in the message. The cards are made out of a recycled paper which gives
the look and feel of an environmentally friendly business. I kept the logo and text
simple so that it was both easy to read, and not hard to find the information you are
looking for. The logo used on the business cards also tie in with the logo used
on the business stationary.

Objective
Create a logo for an international non-profit organization.
Process
Creating a logo that was simple, but still conveyed my message was difficult. After
many prototypes, I ended up with a graphic I created of the world, with the companys
name underneath. I used Illustrator to create the graphic, mainly working with shapes
and the pen tool. I kept the colors flat so that too many details wouldnt distract
from the message. I created this design in hopes of encapsulating the idea of
international work. I want the view to be able to see the image and know
that the work this company is doing is worldwide.

Objective
Create business stationary that is cohesive with other designs.
Process
I started off with using a recycled paper look as the base for this stationary, but I
decided that the texture of the paper might overpower the simplicity of my design.
I kept this stationary simple, using only the logo I previously created, and a bottom
border to finish the page. I made sure to leave a lot of negative space around the logo
and bottom border so that each item on the page looked like it belonged, and
not haphazardly placed.

Objective
Create a working web page using HTML and CSS.
Process
Since this web page was going to be representing the company Ive been working
with for past projects, I wanted it to also represent the work the company does. Using
an image as my background, I created floating text. This allows the user to scroll
through the text, all without having the background image move. I formatted all of my
information in a way that made the text easy to read, and in paragraphs that
were clearly labeled.

Objective
Create a sample of working illustrating skills using Photoshop.
Process
Knowing that I wanted the text of my image to be a quote about nature, I went out
to photograph images that would send the right message. Once I had my image, I
identified the colors in the photo, and what color harmony they fit in to. I used the
darkest color of the harmony to color the text that I placed over the lightest color in my
harmony, creating a dramatic contrast. The image was cropped and edited to
bring out the colors that I wanted to showcase, and to hide imperfections.

Objective
Create a montage with a spiritual feel.
Process
I knew I wanted to create an image that gave the viewer the feeling of being a part of
something bigger, which I feel is a great thing. I wanted to use us in our world as an
example. Finding the perfect images was difficult. I wanted them to emulate openness
and freedom. I found a picture of stars that also included flowing movements to
direct the viewers eye across the image. I thought about changing the color
of the subjects jacket to have a more defined contrast, but after doing
so, the subject looked very distant from the rest of the image and
didnt include the feeling of blending in that I liked before. I
liked the subject to looking like theyre a part of the universe.

Objective
Create a flier for an event using typography and design skills in InDesign.
Process
This advertisement for Vouant Communications and a Graduate Leadership
Conference uses blackened upper right and lower left corners not only to bring
attention to the information displayed, but to create flow and tie in the negative space
used as a border. This conference is aimed at younger graduates, so the photo
shows the audience range, but it is not exclusive. All information about what
the event includes is kept in the middle of the flier, so that the viewers
eye goes there first. All other information is kept around the edges,
and the viewers eye is directed to it by following the flow of the
black border.
