LET ME INTRODUCE TO YOU GOD, MY FRIEND, MY COUNSELLOR, AND MY SAVIOUR
In the hearts of all mankind, of whatever race or station in life, there are inexpressible
longings for something they do not now possess. The longing is implanted in the very
constitution of man by a merciful God, that man may not be satisfied with his present
conditions or attainments, whether bad, good, or better. God desires that the human shall
seek the best, and find it to the eternal blessing of his soul. Satan, by wily scheme and craft,
has perverted these longings of the human heart. He makes men believe that this desire may
be satisfied by pleasure, by wealth, by ease, by fame, by power; but those who have been thus
deceived by him (and they number myriads) find all these things pall upon the sense, leaving the
soul as barren and unsatisfied as before.
It is God's design that this longing of the human heart should lead to the One who alone is able to
satisfy it. The desire is of Him that it may lead to Him, the fullness and fulfillment of that desire.
That fullness is found in Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Eternal God. "For it was the good
pleasure of the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell;" "for in Him dwelleth all the
fullness of the Godhead bodily." And it is also true that "in Him ye are made full" with respect to
every desire divinely implanted and normally followed.
Haggai calls Him "the Desire of all nations," and we may well call Him "the Desire of all ages,"
even as He is "the King of ages."
1. Is there really God? Yes, There is one God: Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit,
a unity of three co-eternal Persons. (1 John 5:7)
2. Why did God let Jesus be crucified in the cross? For God so loved the earth,
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believed in Him should
not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)
3. Do we really need a Saviour? And hereby, we do know that we know him, if
we keep His commandments. He that said, I know Him, and does not keep His
commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:3-4) God's
entire moral law is what reveals our sin and, thus, our need for a Savior. The
law and the gospel are, therefore, inseparable. We are created in the image
and likeness of God. He longs for our relationship. Thus, since we are created
in His likeness, thus the longing for a relationship with Him, and in same way,
longing to be saved from our current state which is we can only find thru
Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Saviour.
4. How can we know God? The Son of God has come and has given us an
understanding, that we may know Him who is true. (1 John 5:20) This is
eternal life that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom
you have sent. (John 17:3)
5. Why did God created man and for what purpose? And God said, Let us make
man in our image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish
of the sea, over the fowl of the air, over the cattle, over all the earth, and
over every creeping things that creepeth upon the earth. (Gen 1:26)
6. What did God do after He formed man out of the dust of the ground? And the
Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life and man became a living soul. (Gen. 2: 7)
7. Why God did allows us to sin? And the Lord God commanded the man,
saying, og every tree of the garden thou mayest FREELY eat, but of the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, for in the day that
thou eat thereof thou shall surely die (Gen. 2:16-17) God created Adam and
Eve with a free will. This tree was symbolic of the freedom God gave them.
They were free to separate from Him at any time and when they did separate
from God, the source of all life, there was much weeping in heaven for God
knew the suffering, pain, devastation and death that we would now be facing.
8. But why does all humanity suffered and affected by Adams sin? Wherefore,
as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death
passed upon all men, for that all gave sinned. (Rom. 5:12) We are the seed of
Adam in which God have created. When Adam sinned, he actually separated
himself from God. And when he did this his entire nature changed and
became corrupted. Since we were still in him when he sinned, our nature
through heredity changed as well.
9. As a result of the fall how many righteous or good in Gods eyes? There is no
one righteous, not one. Not even the Jews or the Gentiles for they are all
under sin. Mankind have gone out of the way of God, we became unprofitable
as there is none the do good, not even a single person. (Rom. 3:10-12) For
there is not just a man in this earth, that do good and does not sin (Ecc. 7:20)
because we are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousness are as filthy
rags; and we all do fade as a leaf and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken
us away. (Is. 64:6) The Bible is clear that there is no one righteous in this
world, not even me and you. Are righteousness is compared as filthy rags
because of sin which separates us from God.
10.Because of this universal sin problem, how many stand guilty or condemned
under Gods law? The Bible tells us that Now we know that what things so
eve the law said, it said to them who are under the law that every mouth may
be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. (Rom 3:19)
11.How many have sinned and who is our hope? For all have sinned, an come
short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption of that is in Christ Jesus (Rom. 3:23,24) Sin is a condition or a
nature that we all inherit from birth. It is something we are born with because
of Adams fall. We cannot do anything to escape it, in and of ourselves, but
this is not our fault and God does not blame us for being born sinners.
Despite of our sins, we can still be redeemed by accepting Jesus Christ as our
personal savior!
12.In what conditions do we sinners find ourselves? We are like sheep who have
gone astray and turned to our own way. (Is. 53:6) We are by nature selfcentered. We usually do things that we want and think it was good for
several reasons and we often do not realize why we are doing it. Most of the
time we justify our actions even we knew that we are not doing the right
things we ought to do.
13.Why cant we trust our own hearts? We cannot trust our own hearts because
our hearts are deceitful above all things; we are by nature wicked. (Jer. 17:9)
We deceive ourselves into thinking that we are good and thinking that in just
DOING GOOD to others, we can be saved by God. But when tests comes in
our lives, we blame God for our own misfortunes! The lips may express a
poverty of soul that the heart does not acknowledge. While speaking to God
of poverty of spirit, the heart may be swelling with the conceit of its own
superior humility and exalted righteousness. (COL 159.1) Gods word is the
standard that we must all reach. It is unsafe to consult feeling or to trust to
our own heart; the wise man declares, He that trusteth in his own heart is a
fool. (Prov. 28:26)
14.What does Jesus, the true Witness, say regarding our own self-evaluation? We
are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. (Rev. 3:17) The problem with
most of us is that we do not realize how sinful we are. We really have no
understanding our true condition. We often compare ourselves with others to
see how well we are doing. But the hearts of men become hardened through
selfishness while pretending to fulfill Gods requirements. Many spend money
lavishly in self-gratification. Men and women consult pleasure and gratify
their taste, while they bring to God, almost unwillingly, a stinted offering.
They forget that God will one day demand a strict account of how His goods
have been used, that He will no more accept the pittance they hand into the
treasury than He accepted the offering of Ananias and Sapphira. (AA 75.2)
We do not only lie to ourselves but also to God.
15.What is the only thing that can truly set us free from our sin problem? By
knowing the truth, the truth shall free us. (John 8:32)
16.When we commit sin even against our wishes, what does it prove? Whoever
commits sin is a servant of sin. (John 8:34)
We are not sinful because of sin. We sin because we are sinners by nature. It
is what we produce that comes from a natural tendency that we are all born
with. But only God can wash our sins away. God accepts our broken, contrite
heart. He offers us free pardon.
17.How can we be from sins slavery? Only the son of God, Jesus Christ our
Saviour, can free us and we will be free indeed. (John 8:36) If you feel yourself
to be the greatest sinner, Chrit is just what you need, the greatest Saviour.
Lift up your head and look away from yourself, away from your sin, to the
uplifted Saviour; away from the poisonous, venomous bite of the serpent to
the Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world. (2MCP 452.2)
18.Why did Jesus come into this world? Jesus come into this world to save
sinners. (1 Tim. 1:15)
19.What does the Bible have to say to those who claim we have no sin? We
deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8) when we deny to
ourselves and to God that we have not committed any sins.
20.Of what do we accuse God when we say that we have not sinned? If we claim
that we have not committed any sinned, we accuse God of being a liar. (1
John 1:10)
21.What are the things God does for us if we confess our sins to Him? If we
confess our sins to the Lord, He will forgive us our sins and shall cleanse
(purify) us from all our unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Jesus has borne the
burden of our guilt. He will take the load from our weary shoulders. The
burden of care and sorrow He will bear. He invites us to cast all our care upon
Him, for He carries us upon His heart. (MH 71)
God is not in the business of trying to see how many people He can keep out of
heaven. Instead, because of His great love, He is doing everything a God of love can
do to make it possible for each one to be there. Gods solution for our sin problem
was Jesus death on the cross to die for our sins in order for us to have eternal life.
22.Will God answer our prayers? Our prayers must always be offered in
submission to the will of God. (1 John 5:14) Every saint who comes to God
with a true heart and sends his honest petitions to Him in faith, will have his
prayers answered, but we must have enduring faith and must not let go of
the promises of God. We must not for a moment let go the promises of God if
you do not see or feel the immediate answer to your prayers. We must rely
upon His sure promise, ask and ye shall receive.(Mat. 7:7) God is too wise
to err, and to good to withhold any good thing from us who walk uprightly.
Man is erring, and although his petitions are sent up from an honest heart, he
does not always ask the things that are good for himself, or that will glorify
God. When this is so, our wise and good father hears our prayers and will
answer them, sometimes immediately, but gives us the things that He knows
are for our good and His own glory. The blessing received by us will be that
which we need the most. (RH)
God has a plan for your life, it is a good plan, a big plan and its up to you to
activate that plan by inviting Jesus into your heart. If you have not done it yet
before, you can do it tonight by praying to God. Our prayers are to be earnest and
persistent because if you would believe, you shall see the glory of God, (John
11:40) and if Gods blessing rests upon you because you surrender all to Him, you
will prosper. If you turn from God, He will turn from you. His hand can scatter faster
than you can gather. What is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and
lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (2T 496.1)
Like the disciples, we are in the danger of losing ight of our dependence on God, an
seeking to make a savior of our activity. We need to look constantly to Jesus,
realizing that it is His power which does the work. While we are to labor earnestly
for the salvation of the lost, we must also take time for meditation, for prayer and
for the study of the word of God. Only the work accomplished with much prayer,
and sanctified by the merit of Christ, will in the end prove to have been efficient for
good. (The Desire of Ages, 362) For me, I rather believe in God and enjoy the
blessings of believing in Him, than believe He does not exist, and find out in the end
that He did, and lost my soul.
