PART 1: Narrator: thigh-oh-mar-ger-ee-tuh nah-mih-bee-ensis.... once more.... thigh-oh-mar-ger-ee-tuh nah-mih-bee-ensis...
Narrator: No no... This is not some magic command... neither is
it a tongue twister... this is name of a microorganism... of a
bacteria... that we can see with naked eyes!! Wait... What did I
just say... a microorganisms that can be seen with naked
eyes... come on... that beats the whole purpose of coming up
with such a fancy name Microorganisms or microbes! I was
taught in school that microorganisms cannot be seen with
naked eye... as the word microorganisms itself refers to a
very very small living being...
So what is this thigh-oh-mar-ger-ee-tuh nah-mih-bee-en-sis?
Actually it is a single cell giant bacteria that lives in the ocean
and can be seen by naked eyes... some call it sulphur pearl of
namibia... hmmm.... Interesting... well there are exceptions to
everything.... right?
But why am I talking about microorganisms? Ill tell you why...
a bet was placed between me and a friend of mine... my friend
said to me that Microorganisms is a really boring chapter in
the science book and I was like... What???... That is one of the
most interesting chapters... I mean I asked him Dude what is
your problem with microbes... did they enter your body and
made you sick... or did they enter your brain and made you
dumb (laughs animatedly at his own joke... realizes he has
overdone it...) He obviously got annoyed and said prove it to
me that it is interesting and Ill give you my prized collection of
Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu comic books. Wow! So I thought
Id give it a shot... and here I am... in this video I am going talk
about microorganisms and tell you about things that are
amazing... but the most amazing part is that by the end of this
video... you would know everything that you need to for your
exams... but hey... more importantly... you would be wiser than
most of your friends... (To himself) I am so going to win this
bet....
So lets take a deep breath and begin... oh wait... you know
what... half of the oxygen that we breathe comes from
microbes... cool isnt it!
Everything around us... has microbes. Look here... (Makes a
square on his arm using a marker). How many microbes do you
think I have got here... in this small area... 100? 1000? 10,000?
What if I say 100000...? You would say... are you kidding me...
No... I am not... just imagine 1 lac microbes just in this small
area on my skin... There are more microbes in our mouth than
number of people on this planet... Unbelievable!
It wont be wrong if one says that it is actually the
microorganisms that rule the world not us... humans! The truth
is microorganisms were the first inhabitant of planet Earth!!
I know what you are thinking... a lot of talking ...blah blah
blah... okay I get it... you want to see something mindblowing... right?
Are you up for it?
Plays music and starts dancing.
Billions of microbes are dancing with me... yes... they are
dancing as I am dancing... because they all live in my body...
(Narrator is doing really weird dance steps... maybe they are
so bad that it is funny) oh yeah... isnt it mind-blowing? What?
No? Oh sorry... you know someone told me I was an amazing
dancer ... so I thought.... but okay lets see the real dancing
microbes... Look at this...
PART 2: Narrator is in his lab. He is gathering different things Tissue, hand sanitizer,
mask, handkerchief, antibiotics etc. He looks in a hurry.
I just got to know from my secret sources in the World of Invisibles that a huge army of
microorganisms is coming my way. There is going to be an intense war and Ive to be
prepared for that.
Suddenly it seems like that he is going to sneeze. He picks up the handkerchief and puts it
over his mouth. And sneezes.
That was close. They have already attacked me. If I had not put that handkerchief over
my mouth, they would have spread everywhere and affected others too. But the danger is
not over yet. They are inside my body and Ive to stop them. Thankfully Im prepared.
Narrator takes an antibiotic.
What Im suffering from is common cold. It is caused by bacteria. This antibacterial will kill
them. But how did they enter my body? (Graphic appears while narrator is narrating)
Microorganisms are everywhere. They are in our food, they are in water they are present
even in air. With every breath we are taking millions of harmful microorganisms inside
called pathogens. Normally while blood cells in our body produces antibodies which fight
with these unwanted organisms, but sometimes, some of these microorganisms are able to
defeat our antibodies and we get sick. Example of such diseases are common cold, chicken
pox, cholera and tuberculosis.
