Film Music IVB 3rd Term Project 2016

Write a suitable orchestral piece of music to accompany the shower scene


from Psycho using the following instrumentation:
Piccolo
Flute
Oboe
English Horn
Clarinet
Bass Clarinet
Bassoon I
Bassoon II
Trumpet I
Trumpet II
Horn I
Horn II
Horn III
Horn IV
Trombone I
Trombone II
Trombone III
Tuba

Double Basses
Explore different timbral textures using various combinations of
instruments.
Make use of dynamics and articulation markings.
The music should convey anticipation or comfort at the beginning of the
video when Marion Crane and the viewer are unaware of the impending stabbing, tension
and drama when the shadowy figure appears and commits the murder, and a sad sense of
finality and resolution once Crane is dead.

Send the concert score as a pdf file and the audio recording as an mp3 or
m4a file to [email protected] before 12h00 on 30 September 2016.
