Balaur: Children of Oblivion
Balaur: Children of Oblivion
Harsh, warlike scions of Oblivion, born from the blood of Abyssals and Minotaurs during the ancient War of Heaven.
Children of Oblivion
Born to fight on the frontlines against the Celestial warriors of Heaven itself, Balaur are hybrid race of Abyssal and Minotaur blood,
who have been abandoned by their Abyssal Lords long ago. Now they serve as mercenaries, outlaws and vanguard commandos in the
skirmishes of lesser beings. Once these fiendish warriors were numerous on Aeos, now they have dwindled to fewer than two thousand.
To have the blood of two powerful beings flowing through your veins
To be a creature born in savagery and doomed to die a warriors death
To be resistant to Fire damage
To be a member of a race that favors the Barbarian, Bloodrager, and Warlock classes.
Blood of Abyssals
Balaur look very much like their Minotaur cousins though they are much more fiendish in appearance. While the first Balaur had wings
and abyssal tails, more modern Balaur have lost these physical traits, retaining only wicked looking horns and fiendish eyes. Balaur are
both tall and strongly built, standing between seven and a half feet at eight and a half feet and weighing upwards of three hundred pounds.
Their hands are strong, and talon-like claws with four digits and thumbs on each hand, while their feet are hoofed.
- The blood of some Abyssal Lords runs deep through some Balaur, granting them vestigial wings and daemonic runes that glow like
lava on their horns. Such Balaur are known as Balaur Lords. The most powerful of all of these, the Balaur King has a rune of fire that
burns between his horns. Such Balaur are rare beyond measure, and as such are treated as royalty among their kin.
