Understanding Stem Cells and Their Impact

Stem cells are unspecialized cells that can renew themselves and become specialized tissue or organ cells. There are three main types: adult, embryonic, and induced pluripotent stem cells. Stem cell research is important because it could lead to cures for diseases like cancer, but some argue that using embryonic stem cells devalues human life. However, others counter that stem cell research has potential medical benefits and could help develop embryonic cells correctly. While still being tested, the future of stem cell research looks promising for use in medical clinics.

What are Stem cells

Stem Cell 4

Stem Cells are cells that can become different cells. When stem are divided they can

either become another stem cell or they can become another type of cell. Stem cells have

two important characteristics that distinguish them from other cells. The first one is that

stem cells are unspecialized cells that can renew themselves through cell division. The

second characteristics is that under certain conditions stem cells can become tissue or

organ specific cells. Stem cells are very important to living organisms because of their

abilities they have potential for treating diseases. There are three types of stem cells

adult, embryonic, and induced-pluripotent. In body parts like bones stem cells can

regenerate new replacements. Embryonic cells are beginning cells and can be

manipulated into a specialized in the body. The adult stem cell can develop into the same

type of cell. There are four classes of stem cells totipotent, multipotent, pluripotent, and

unipotent. Stem cells are the foundation cells for every organ and tissue in our bodies.

Contrevosory

Stem cell research is important because it can be used to test new drugs. When they test

new drugs it opens the possibility of finding a cure to a disease. An important thing is

human stem cells and tissues can be used for cell therapy. But stem cell research has also

been called inhumane says Ian Murnaghan By using stem cells and discarding the

embryo, it is thought that human life is ultimately devalued by this act and is paving a

slippery slope for further scientific procedures that similarly de-value life. There are also

alternative ways to find cures to diseases.

My side

Stem cells can benefit research because diseases like cancer and heart diseases. This can

lead to less future deaths. Stem cell research can help embryonic cells develop correctly.

Blood stem cells are also the most used stem cells in therapy. The future of stem cell

research will be able to be used in clinics. Although stem cell research has some major

issue since some restriction have been lifted more research can be done. Stem cell

research can be very beneficial to human life. The future of stem cell research will be

able to be used in clinics.

Conclusion

In conclusion Stem Cells are still being tested by scientist and can potentially be used for

medical advancements in the future. The future of stem looks to be promising but there

are many possibilities that can affect the public.
