v ESL Tutor September 2016 Present
INTO CSU Learning Resource Center Fort Collins, CO
Worked one-on-one with INTO CSU Academic English student focusing on extensive
listening and speaking skills. Met weekly for two consecutive semesters.
Planned and administered various listening and speaking activities to fit learners
needs as well as interests. Dictations and dialogues, picture stories, verbal spelling
and information gap exercises were all used.
Conducted formative assessments during weekly sessions via observations and
verbal and written feedback.


v Writing Workshop Facilitator September 2016 Present
Larimer County Jail Fort Collins, CO
Facilitated weekly writing workshops with incarcerated men at the Larimer County
Jail with the aim to create space for creative expression, emotional processing and
healing, and experimentation with varied forms of writing. Emphasized individual
writers connections to larger issues of identity and justice through publication.
Created weekly lesson plans, provided oral and written feedback on all writers
work, assisted in the publication of the semi-annual writers journal, kept a bi-
weekly blog documenting experiences as an intern, and completed a community
literacy-based research project.

Provided 40 hours of academic and behavioral support each week to nearly 50
children in K-1 classrooms.
Planned and implemented small group workstations, administered weekly formative
assessments and data collection, and completed general clerical duties.

Mary Hogan Elementary, Addison County Supervisory Union Middlebury, VT
Provided educational, social, and emotional skill building and development for
students in the Success Center: A therapeutic day treatment program designed to
provide support for children K-6 who suffer from trauma.
Engaged in latest trauma practices including Mindfulness. Received extensive
training in non-violent crisis prevention.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & INVOLVEMENT

Joined listening and speaking classes at INTO CSU to provide conversation practice
to international students from various countries of origin including China, Thailand,
Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Mexico, and Brazil. Led small group discussions as well as
one-on-one conversations.
Learned about many different cultures and worldviews and helped students make
connections with the larger CSU and Fort Collins community.

Developed leadership skills as an officer of the association and facilitated multiple
TTSA events on and off campus.
Helped plan and organize charitable book drives, workshops, seminars, and guest

v Peer-to-Peer Dialogue Program, Participant June 2016 August 2016
Tomsk Polytechnic University/Colorado State University Tomsk, Russia
Participated in a collaborative project between Colorado State University and Tomsk
Polytechnic University titled Territory Identity of Russia and America through the
Eyes of Young Generations.
Funded through the U.S. Department of State with the aim of promoting
intercultural dialogue. Hosted Russian students in Fort Collins, Colorado in June 2016
and traveled to Tomsk, Russia in August 2016.
Helped research sites in Fort Collins and Tomsk with Russian colleagues to develop
travel entries on the Peer-to-Peer Dialogue Program website:

Universidad Nacional Heredia, Costa Rica
Participated in a five month-long, fully immersive study abroad program through
IFSA-Butler.
Lived with a Spanish-speaking host family and attended local university classes with
native Costa Rican students.

Traveled extensively within Costa Rica and visited neighboring countries Nicaragua
and Panama.
