Restaurant at the end of the World

Characters
Jack- Brass player. Head chef. Crude AF. Unwilling to learn anything new. Sort of the leader, but is
often too fucked up to do anything useful. Drinks and gets high. Always says he has a better idea than
Nicole in a times of action. Not allowed to have a gun. Is shooting it off needlessly if he has one.
Weapons: Bow and arrow, hatchet.
Actor: Brandon?
Roger- Piano player. Grill Cook. Drinks and smokes/ is constantly high. Best friends with Jack. They
often play music drunkenly. Also not allowed to have a gun because he cant aim for shit.
Weapons: Whatever is closest. (I once fought off a pack of coyotes with a whole salmon. And we still
ate it!)
Actor: Stone
Sven- Prep cook. Artist from Denmark, came for work study, stuck in America after the apocalypse.
Unaware of American traditions, idioms, and geography. Not really interested in being a part of the
group but has nothing better to do. Drinks a lot.
Weapons: Fire. He tries to carry a gun, but is always losing them.
Actor:
Allison- Server. Thinks shes a star. Often suggests solving problems with impractical or nonsensical
solutions. Likes putting on a musicals. Gets high
Weapons: Big stick
Actor: Jessi Green
Hobo Teddy- Speaks unintelligibly, is the only one of the group skilled at survival. Loner, no one
really hangs out with him, but he is always present. Never worked in a restaurant, the gang just picked
up a random hobo after shit went down. Owner of Ace the dog.
Weapons: Throwing knives
Actor: Nick Williams
Lord Zoltron- Sautee Cook. Drummer. Real name Brian, but is obsessed with science fiction and
demands to be called Lord Zoltron after the end of the world. Has an unrequited crush on Nicole. Calls
her my lady.
Weapons: Slingshot and blade for hunting.
Big handgun at first, upgraded to an alien hand cannon at some point. It doesnt work when its most
needed, but he carries it anyway.
Actor: Jericho?
Nicole- Pantry. Cellist. Kind of a badass, kind of intense. Is the most able of the group (other than the
Hobo) and puts up with them because she thinks they would die without her. Very rarely consumes
intoxicants. Spends a lot of time working out, doing yoga at least once per episode. The group are
constantly ruining good plans that she comes up with when theyre out doing things.

The Restaurant-
Ext On the edge of a forest. The walls have been boarded up, and the sign is on the ground, mostly
destroyed but partially legible. (Gian Brunts Culinary Restaurant has become Gia-------nt
Cu----------nt) (Im glad he fucking died. What restaurant isnt fucking culinary? -Jack)
Int Used to be a fine dining restaurant, but its been a home for 3 years. Wood paneled walls, nice
chandeliers and assorted tables and chairs are virtually all thats left. Its cluttered with different
peoples stuff. There are sheets or blankets or cardboard over the booths to make little sleeping pods.
The hobo occupies a single booth almost constantly, and does not have cover on his.
Premise
Three years after the end of the world the story begins. The group is mostly dysfunctional, but entirely
co-dependent. They get into a variety of situations that require them to not be total failures at life and
screw it all up. There are references to the lost years referring in meta the fact that the first season is
named year 4. Its like Star Wars. They inhabit a restaurant that they previously worked in. They are
all bad at doing anything but cooking and their respective arts, though as time goes on they will
discover that they have some hidden talents.
Random Ideas
All other restaurant signs you see in the show will have been accidentally altered to be things that
kitchen workers would say. Hard Rock Cafe But the R has been damaged and a birds nest covers the
top of the o. Hard Fuck Cafe.
Season One: Year 4
The Restaurant at the end of the World
Meet all of the characters. They go out and try to find food in the woods. The dont find much, then the
hobo goes out and comes back 20 minutes later with sacks full of food. They ask him where it came
from. Got it from eh -unintelligible- dingbats.
Opening shot is single take.
Opens looking at a wall behind the cooking area. Roger and Jack are having an argument in the kitchen
about food. The camera zooms out a bit. They are cooking dinner for the rest of the group, but the
audience assumes theyre just in the middle of a normal shift. The camera zooms out more, and we see
Marty is laying on the prep table, hoping for some scraps. This is the first indication that something is
not normal. Roger takes a big hit of weed from a bong, and continues cooking. Jack picks up a dead
raccoon off the floor, brandishes it at Marty to get him out of the way, and starts shaving it. The camera
continues to back away from them through the whole restaurant into the dining room.
After some dialogue in the dining room, there is a gunshot from the kitchen and Jack can be heard
yelling The fucking thing moved!
Nicole: God dammit. Who gave him a gun again?
Another episode
Ace in the Hole- Dog gets stuck in a hole
Lost- Group gets lost in the woods. Find their way back because of a mysterious bright light in the sky
Another episode
Roger Runs Dry- They are out of weed. Roger loses his shit, and eventually starts drinking heavily.
Start growing it on the roof of the restaurant.
Modern Aliens- They think aliens are messing with them, like ancient aliens. They eventually think
they were just imagining things. End with Roger saying Maybe were all in a TV show.
Final Episode: Marty McFly- The aliens were real, and left behind a time machine for the group.
Roger and Allison travel to the past to before the apocalypse. They realize they should all travel back to
before the end of the world and go back for the others. Should be the end to all of their problems.
But they have to go back far enough to live out the rest of their lives. Each character wants to go to a
different era, though. They realize it might be the end of the group. But then Marty jumps into the time
machine and disappears.
Doesnt come back until a few episodes later (second season), but just shows up out of the blue without
the time machine, looking a few years older.
