OGDENSBURG Busters Sports Bar & Restaurant
on Paterson Street has been serving wholesome,
homemade food to families throughout the greater
Ogdensburg area for more than 20 years, with an
emphasis on the word family.
Owner Terry R. Vernsey opened the eatery in 1995. He
said the restaurants long-term goal has always been to
create a family-friendly atmosphere where children are as
welcome as adults.
We are a family restaurant with a sports bar
atmosphere, Mr. Vernsey said. The bar is just a small
part of what we do here.
He said the restaurants small bar area is separated from
the main dining room by a wall, and by a large fish tank
that adds to the rooms relaxed atmosphere.
The kids love the fish tank, Mr. Vernsey said.
Busters signature dish is not really a dish at all, but a
huge salad bar that dominates one end of the restaurants
dining room. The 20 foot salad bar offers homemade
soup, bread, a variety of lettuces and spinach and other
healthy items like carrots, broccoli, beets and beans. Mr.
Vernsey said there are few if any restaurants in the area
that offer a salad bar on par with Busters.
The other restaurants that have salad bars dont have the
options that Busters has, Mr. Vernsey said. We have
basically 20 feet of salad bar. It comes with homemade
soup every day, and not just one choice of lettuce but we
offer three different choices of lettuce. The choices that
you have for toppings are also numerous. Anything you
could ever think to put on a salad is probably up there.
Mr. Vernsey said the salad bar also contains a full
selection of macaroni, pasta and potato salads, again, all
homemade.
So you also get those salads that are up there as well,
including five of six different kids of dressing and our
warm buttered French rolls, he said. If you add all of
that together it makes one pretty impressive salad bar.

Open 7 Days A Week While Busters salad bar is its signature, the restaurant
also boasts a six-page menu that incudes everything from
light finger foods to full course entrees like prime rib and
fresh St. Lawrence River perch. There a dozen burger
choices, and the eaterys boneless fried chicken wings
known as zings are another local crowd pleaser. There
are nine different sauces that can accompany the wings
ranging from mild to spicy.
Busters is also famous for its homemade deserts,
including a number of homemade pies baked on the
premises.
Coconut cream is one of our most popular, Mr. Vernsey
said. All of our deserts are made from scratch.

Nu Pier has served up popular

food for more than 22 years
Nu Pier Restaurant and Lounge on Route 3 in Sackets Harbor has been providing
quality home-cooked food for over 22 years.
Owner Chrissy Roach and the rest of the Nu Pier staff offer a good helping of comfort
food classics and inspired innovations year-round.
Everything is homemade and we are open all year they say that I have the best
mac n cheese in town, said Ms. Roach.
Two of the more popular dishes on the menu are the hot turkey sandwich served
with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and cranberry sauce. And the Lake Effect Snow
Burger is a grilled burger topped with coleslaw, chili, cheese and onion which is
served with home-
cut french fries.

The restaurant serves
breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Some of the
other items on the menu include a variety of soups, sandwich and burger options,
appetizers, seafood baskets, omelets and pasta. Specials are offered daily.
Many people stop in specifically for the restaurants very popular meatloaf, prime rib
or perch when they are featured on the specials board.
Desserts at Nu Pier are homemade. The most popular dessert items are the carrot
cake, strawberry shortcake and apple crisp. These selections are not seasonal; they
are available all year.
Meals are served on Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday from 7
a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8
p.m. The restaurant and lounge are closed on Tuesday.
The lounge is separated from the dining area and is a popular place for football and
fishing fans. There are beverage and wing specials offered throughout the year. The
lounge is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
An open patio is also available to patrons as weather permits.
