8th Grade Science Instructional Improvement Plan

The Communication Action Research Team and middle school science teachers will use a Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle and the following steps to improve 8th grade science achievement: 1) Analyze state, national, and campus data to identify strengths and weaknesses 2) Design professional development for teachers based on weaknesses 3) Gather and analyze benchmark and curriculum-based assessment data throughout the year using new instructional strategies 4) Study results and standardize improvements to have a continuous process The goal is to increase the 8th grade science TAKS pass rate to 90% for all students and subgroups.
