SECTION 1.1.1 TNB METERING PANEL

1. GENERAL

The metering panel shall be floor standing type fabricated from electro galvanised
sheet of thickness of not less than 2.0 mm.

The enclosure shall be of all welded construction with sheets bent where possible so as
to minimise the number of welded joints. The four sides of the enclosure shall be of
returned at the front over plates or doors shall be of box formation and flanged to
facilitate fixing to the enclosure. When required by the Supply Authority, the portion
of the front cover for mounting the TNB meters, holes shall be provided by the
contractor. The doors and the enclosure shall be bounded with a suitable flexible earth
bond.

The front cover of the panel shall be provided with grummets and dust seals to exclude
dust and dirt. All edges shall be rounded and serrated star washers shall be fitted to
ensure satisfactory earthing of the front cover.

The rear of the panel shall be equipped with suitable galvanised steel mounting
channels/brackets.

The metering panel shall be provide with facilities to house and mounted the TNB
meters and other relevant accessories and control cablings.

The contractor is responsible to liaise with the Supply Authority on the detail of the
metering requirements before submitting the relevant shop drawing for approval prior
to fabrication.

The metering panel shall undergo de-rusting treatment, anti-rust treatment before
electrostatically powered sprayed with polyester/epoxy dry power point a minimum of
70 micron thickness. They shall be overbaked at the appropriate temperature
recommended by the paint supplier.

All relevant associated accessories shall be provided in order to meet the requirements
of the Supply Authority and the S.O. The panel shall be effectively bonded and
earthed in accordance to IEE 16th Edition and to TNB's requirements.
