Job Description of an SAP FICO Consultant

- Facilitate the implementation and support of SAP Financials (focus on FICO Controlling – Cost
Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, Profitability Analysis, Project System,
Results Analysis, Unsettled Costs, Month End Close, Overhead assessment and settlement.)
- Perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and provide appropriate system
solutions; identify, interpret, validate and document customer requirements
- Facilitate workshops to collect business requirements
- Map client business requirements, processes and objectives; develops necessary product
modifications to satisfy clients' needs.
- Design, customize, configure and testing of FI/CO modules. Also, document functional designs, test
cases and results
- Identify gaps, issues and work around solutions.
- Act as liaison with client for troubleshooting: investigate, analyse, and solve software problems. Act
as a liaison between the business functions and the technical team.
- Proactively identify and propose business process and/or system enhancements
- Provide consulting services on both new implementations and existing support projects
- Provide ad-hoc training and user support as required
- Work self-directed and independently; may act as subject matter mentor to more junior members
- Experience in SAP FI and CO modules (usually at least 2 - 5 years) - General Ledger (GL),
Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cost and Profit Center Accounting (CPA) and
Internal Orders
- Configuration of SAP FI, CO modules in IMG based on business requirements

- Looking for improvement opportunities in business systems

- Assisting in testing process in order to discover errors and issues in business processes,
documentation or user's lack of experience

- Application support and training of end users

- Cooperating with consultants from other modules such as MM, PM, PP and PS

- Implementing SAP Business Warehouse (BW)

Job Description of an SAP FICO Project manager


The project manager is also called a team leader or director. He/she is an important person
during the implementation of the project. The project manager should have a extensive
experience as an SAP FICO consultant. He/she is also a part of the sales process, so he/she
should have strong negotiation and management skills as well.

Responsibilities of project managers are an extension of consultant's responsibilities:


 Managing team of consultants in order to deliver final solution to customer based on
contract conditions
 Managing client relationships
 Supervising and coaching junior consultants in the project

SAP NETWEAVER :
launched in the year 2004, can be defined as a system that is a compilation of different properties that
helps in managing different applications through a single system at a much lower cost. This unified
system runs different data management processes through a single system and thereby cutting down
costs to a significant extent. It can also be referred to as the consolidation of diverse data and
processes. SAP NetWeaver has like modules in both SAP such as Business Intelligence (BI),
Enterprise Portal (EP), Exchange Infrastructure (EI) and more. The sole aim of SAP NetWeaver is to
deliver a unified tracking system for different processes. It is best for organizations who wish to
merge their processes and manage it through a system. It allows users to create new applications along
with migrating data from existing systems. SAP NetWeaver intake both regular and verbal
instructions from users and thus is more user-friendly. Also this brings down the cost of investment on

of SAP NETweaver :
- SAP Business Information Warehouse: As the term suggests, SAP BIW provides data

together in this component of SAP NetWeaver.
- SAP Enterprise Portal: This component unifies and aligns the details, information and
processes of different departments in a single space.

enables better decisions in enterprises. SAP BI simplifies data manipulation and allows
users to analyze and share information with stakeholders.
- SAP XI Exchanging Infrastructure: SAP XI enables enterprises to connect systems

applications. This component extensively supports at cross-company scenarios.
- SAP Knowledge Warehouse: SAP KW helps an organization to set up and manage both

- SAP Master Data Management: SAP MDM provides a single; integrate software
solution that helps in creating, distribution and managing the entire master data at an
