progression • Instead of rolling throw a ‘half volley’
• Field one handed

Notes • Rink stage 1

(Glenmorecc,2016)
High ball Time 10 min
Equipment • Per group
• 1 tennis racquet
• 1 tennis ball
• 1 hoop
• 2 cones
Instructions • Each group to have a leader
• The leader is to hit a high ball with the tennis racquet and
try to land it in the hoop
• Everyone else in a group
• 1 person each time is to run from the cone and try to
catch the high ball
• Throw the ball back to the leader and join the back of the
group

Slips Catches Time 10 min

trying to bounce the ball on the table
• This will cause the ball to skim off the table and simulate
a slips/wicket keeper catch
• Whoever catches the ball throws back hitting the table
and the drill repeats

Variations/ • Points/runs awarded for each made catch

Progression • Points/runs deducted for dropped catches
KTP’s • Body behind ball
