I would like to apply for the 9th grade U.S. History position at Eden Central School District.
I am a graduate of Saint Francis University with a degree in History/Secondary Education and minors i
Political Science and Global Communities. While in School I was Division 1 Athlete on the Men’s Volleyball
team and was a captain my senior year. Off the court, I was a member of the History Club, Education Club, a
senator for Student Government, and a member of the Loretto Borough Council. I also volunteer yearly to
programs like Project Bundle Up, Special Olympics, Sports 4 Kids Day, and participated in over 80 hours of
classroom observations/student teaching.
I am outgoing, a leader, and have a great work ethic. Throughout my four years of college I have been
a part of a multitude of organizations. I have worked with like the BRIDGE program and have volunteered at
local Thanksgiving church dinners. I have balanced my education and athletics while in college and contributed
to the community through the Loretto Borough Council and the Student Government Association. I was also a
captain of my volleyball team in college and my high school basketball and volleyball team.
I believe a teacher can be the single most influential person in a student’s life and that’s my goal as an
educator. Not only will I help expand my students mind in the classroom but I will help prepare them for life
after high school. Every student has potential no matter what their background is and I want ot help them reach
their goals.
