ABSTRACT
The Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) have been considered as the
one of the segments of the Indian financial system. In the 1980’s this sector had
a mushrooming of institutions and the profile of the industry has undergone many
changes over the years. NBFCs are successful in rendering a wide range of
services. Initially intended to cater to the needs of savers and investors, NBFCs
later on developed into institutions that can provide services similar to bank. In
this paper an attempt has been made to empirically analyses the performance of
the NBFCs (Auto financing and Other Asset financing) in India across the period
of 2007-2012. This study examines the profitability, efficiency and turnover
aspects of the selected NBFCs. The findings indicate that the NBFCs differ
significantly in terms of Profitability and Leverage indicators from one another.
Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs) accomplish various functions and
provide a variety of financial services to individuals, businesses and
organizational customers. They play an extremely fundamental role in the
economic growth of any country. This paper intends to assess, compare, test and
analyze the financial performance (FP) of five listed NBFCs as measurement and
comparative analysis of financial performance of the companies are intended to
assist the finance managers analyses their companies' activities from a financial
standpoint and provide useful information needed to take right kind of managerial
decisions. Various kinds of financial ratios have also been used to analyses the
financial performance of the selected NBFCs. This paper concludes by saying
that the selected companies differ significantly in terms of their financial
performance indicators from one to another and there are no significant
differences in the last five years in the management of financial performance but
the companies have performed well in the last five years.
