Dear Candidate,

1. Please refer to your application for the abovementioned course.


2. You are required to report at 0630 h on 14 Sep 2015 for test and interview. A
representative of this Board will meet you at Dehradun Railway Station near MCO and
will escort you to this Board.
3. You are to bring photo identity proof such as Photo Identity Card of your
school/college/Driving License/Passport/Voter ID/Pan Card/AADHAR card etc. You are
also required to bring two photocopies of the photo identity proof.
4. NDA Candidates below 18 years of age are to bring the Indemnity Bond annexed
with this letter duly filled in and signed by their natural/legal guardian.
5. (a) You should withhold your move in case you have a relative at this Board and
intimate to this Board immediately the particulars of the person concerned and wait
further instructions. Any attempts made by candidates, their relations or friends to
influence the members of Air Force Selection Board in their favor either verbally or in
writing will result in his name being removed from the list of candidates. In all matters
of discipline, the decision of President AFSB will be final and no appeal against his
decision will be entertained.

(b) Local candidates are those who are permanent residents of the cities where
the AFSBs exist. They will not be tested at those AFSBs.

6. Hard copy of the railway/bus ticket is a mandatory requirement for the payment of
TA claims to candidates reporting for the SSB.
7. Please read and abide by the enclosed general instructions carefully.

Annexure: General Instructions &Indemnity Bond
GENERAL INSTRUCTION FOR REPORTING
AT AIR FORCE SELECTION BOARDS

1. Reporting. The attached call letter is the authority for you to report at the Board
for interview. The same is to be handed over to the Board on your arrival. You must
report for interview on the date and time specified in the Call letter. Late comers (on
any account including of late running of trains) will not be admitted for tests. A
representative of the Board in Air Force Uniform will be available near MCO, Dehradun
Railway Station and escort you to the selection Board.

2. Boarding & lodging. Free boarding and lodging will be provided to you
during your stay at the Board. However, should you arrive before the date and time
indicated in the Call letter, you would need to make your own arrangements.

3. Selection Procedure. Officer Intelligence Rating Test and Picture Perception


& Discussion Test will be conducted as Phase- I testing. Psychological test, Group
testing and Interview will be conducted for Phase – II Candidates. Pilot Aptitude Battery
Test will be conducted on second day for Flying Branch candidates.

4. Documents. You are required to bring the following documents, which will
be retained/ returned after verification:-

(a) Twenty Five copies of your recent passport size photograph taken in light
coloured clothes against white background.
(b) Original matriculation / SSL Certificate & Mark sheet for verification of date
of birth.
(c) Marks sheets & certificate of XIIth (Flying Branch).
(d) ‘C’ Certificate of NCC Air Wing (if required).
(e) Two attested photocopies of above mentioned certificate.
(f) Character and Antecedent Certificate (Attached).
(g) Indemnity Bond (Attached).
(h) Certificate indicating Address Proof of your Permanent Address from a
competent authority.

5. Requisites. You are advised to travel light with the following items:-

(a) Clothing requirement for six days as per weather.


(b) One pair of white shirt, shorts/Track suit, socks and a pair of PT shoes.
(c) Adequate writing material (ink/ball point pen and lead pencil).
(d) Name and complete postal addresses of two trustworthy persons/
Gazetted Officers (not relative) and should know you for more than two years
who will vouch for your character and antecedents, in case of your
recommendation for commissioning in the IAF from the Board.

6. Travelling Allowances (TA) . TA (by shortest route) for III AC train/ Bus for
the journey from the place of your residence or place of departure (whichever is
nearest) is admissible. Change of address, if any, must be known to the Board before
your arrival. You shall provide hard copy of railway/ bus ticket to the Board, failing
which no TA will be paid. For all other modes of travel TA will be admissible as per the
prevalent Government authorised rules.

7. No TA is admissible, if you have already appeared for the same type of entry at
any of the Air Force Selection Boards earlier.
8. Medical Examination. Recommended candidates will be required to proceed
for medical examination for duration of four to seven days at AFCME, New Delhi/ IAM,
Bangalore/SSC, Bhopal. It may be noted that Air Force Medical Board/ Service medical
Board is the final authority for deciding your medical fitness for joining the IAF. You are

9. Discipline. Your conduct and behavior during your stay at the Board is
expected to be disciplined and orderly. Any act of indiscipline or misconduct will invite
cancellation of your candidature. In all matters pertaining to indiscipline and / or
misconduct, the decision of the President will be final and no appeal against his
decision will be entertained. Should you try and influence any member of the Board
directly or indirectly, your candidature will be cancelled.

10. Change of Date. Change of date for SSB will not be entertained under normal
circumstances. However in extreme cases if change of date is required, a candidate is
to apply in writing to the President of the AFSB. If possible a fresh date will be given as
per the Board schedule. In case you do not receive reply from the Board, it is to be
presumed that request for change of date has not been accepted.

11. Caution. Do not report to the Board if:-

(a) You have already been tested by Air Force Selection Board for the
current course (check course number from call letter).
(b) You do not fulfill all eligibility conditions relating to educational
qualifications, age, marital status and physical/medical standards etc, as
given in the advertisement.
(c) You have failed in Pilot Aptitude Battery Test at any time.

12. General. No facility exists at the Board for safe custody of cash and
valuables. Therefore, do not bring any valuables or excess money. Laptop, mobiles,
handycam or any such electronic gadgets or valuables are NOT permitted to be
used inside the campus.

Note: These instructions are general in nature. The instructions contained in the
advertisement for your course and call up letter will be binding for determining your
candidature for test and interview. In all matters the decision of Air Force authority shall
be final.

the Service Selection Board and I understand and agree that no compensation will be
paid by the Union of India or by any officer or airman of the IAF or any person in the
Service Selection Board and I understand and agree that no compensation will be paid
by the Union of India in respect of any such loss or injury or death and I further agree so
as to bind myself, my heirs, my executors and administrators to indemnify the Union of
India, any officer or airman of the IAF and any person in the service of the Union of
India against any claim which may be made by any third party against the Union of
India, or any officer or airmen of person in the service of the Union of India, arising out
of any act or default on part of myself/ minor or in connection with such tests before
Services Selection Board.
