Peñafrancia Festival

Peñafrancia Festival is held yearly in Naga City in honor to Our Lady of Peñafrancia, Bicolanos
commonly called her INA. The feast day of Our Lady of Peñafrancia is celebrated on the third
Saturday of September, the feast day is preceded by novena, nine days of prayer.

During Peñafrancia Festival many devotees came here in Naga City to express their devotion to
INA. Last week was the celebration with different activities such as; civic parade, military
parade, traslacion and fluvial procession. Different schools in Naga City joined the program to
expose their talents and their participation towards the activities. On the first day of the festival
the image of Ina was being held in Naga Metropolitan Cathedral then on the last day of the
festival was being brought to Basilica Minore Church through fluvial procession. Bicolanos
doesn’t let these days passed without going to church to see the image of Ina and celebrate
these festivities with the whole family. Families get along together to enjoy the food they
prepared for the festivity. Our Lady of Peñafrancia is the most influential Patron of Bicol, a lot of
people truly devote themselves with all their heart.
