INSTRUCTION
 This assignment carries 30% weightage toward final grade.
 Assignment must be submitted to the lecturer in the class week 12 on or before Friday,
14/11/2019.
 Each group should comprise of 4 to 5 students only.
 A softcopy of the assignment must be submitted in a CD together with the print copy of the
assignment.
 REMINDER: Late submission will result deduction on marks or will not be entertained.

APPLICATIONS OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN THE ORGANISATION

Select ONE organization/firm/corporation which applying Management Information System (MIS)


in their organization. Prepare a report on the organization activities and practices using
Management Information System (MIS) based on the following structure:

1) Describe the nature of the business of the organization [10%];


2) Describe on how the organization apply the system, the features and capabilities of the
system, the end users of the system who is currently using the system [50%];
3) Describe how the system helps the organization to perform their operation such as in decision
making and strategic management, explain the competitive advantages of the MIS to the
organization [30%].
4) Explain the benefits or limitations of the system applied in the organization. If the system has
limitation, provide recommendation on how the system can improve the productivity of the
organization [10%].
5) Discuss the security threats and the action plan to overcome.

Note: You may choose to focus on specific level of management that use MIS in the organization,
example: strategic management level, managerial management level or operational management
level.
