PROJECT PLANNING REPORT GUIDELINES
Every student is required to write a project planning report upon completion of their VII Semester and required to
submit two copies (student copy + department copy) of the report for final evaluation and awarding of end examination
marks. Before submitting the report to the HOD, the student required to go through multiple rounds of revision in
collaboration with the department project mentor/coordinator/supervisor and the college project coordinator.
The Project Planning Report serves multiple purposes:
• Help the student develop written communication skills.
• Help to design detailed and extensive explanation of the purpose and need of the project
• Able to review existing literature and available resources.
• To identify the gaps and limitations of existing systems.
• To design the objectives of proposed project
• Designing step by step solution to the problem
• Division of problem into modules and good selection of computing framework
• Designing detailed time framework using various software tools
Guidelines for designing the report:
• Paper : A4 Size Executive Bond Sheet
• Font: Times New Roman
• Chapter heading centered with font size 24.
• Sections heading left justified in font size 16.
• Sub-sections heading left justified in font size 14.
• The body of the text of the project should have font size 12 with 1.5 line spacing.
• Margins 1.5” left and 1” all other side.
• Chapters should be numbered as 1, 2, 3, etc.
• Header & Footer Details: Header from Top and Bottom 0.5”
• The figures and Tables must be numbered chapter wise. For e.g. Fig. 3.1 (Name), Table 3.1 (Name), etc.
• Spiral binding

Section-C/IT: Blue

8) Bibliography : Include references to books, articles, reports referred to in the report in IEEE format.
