Induction Motor Speed Control

1) The document discusses speed control of an induction motor using a triac voltage controller. It describes the construction of single phase induction motors and how their speed can be varied by controlling the gate firing angle of the triac. 2) A circuit diagram and MATLAB simulation are provided. In the simulation, the speed is 1331 rpm with 0 degree delay and 1259 rpm with 45 degree delay, showing that speed can be varied by controlling voltage. 3) In conclusion, the speed of an induction motor can be changed by varying the triac firing angle to adjust the voltage and frequency supplied to the motor.

Abstract- The main objective of this project is to control the speed of Induction Motor at lower cost and efficient performance.
Induction Machines, the most widely used motor in industry, have been traditionally used in open-loop control applications,
for reasons of cost, size, reliability, ruggedness, simplicity, efficiency, less maintenance, ease of manufacture and its ability to
operate in dirty or explosive conditions. Main work is to control the speed of induction motor, which is being done by triac
voltage controller.
