CHAPTER 1: OVERVIEW
1.1 The Project
The project is designed as a four-storey structure which will serve as a commercial Building located at Bulacan in barangay
Santa Maria. The commercial building is proposed to have a near entertainment building and used to commercial activities in the
location.
The commercial building has a total lot area of 1100 m2 and a floor dimension of 36.96 m x 23.68m. It is rectangular in shape
and has 4 levels and roof deck. The outside has an open area with more than 220 m2 in total, it will be used as parking lot and
landscape for the building.
The ground floor of the building consisted restaurants, supermarket, baggage counter, fire exit and 2 toilets. The toilet rooms
were placed under the stairs for every floor. Then, the second floor consisted of stores, entertainment area, toilets and lounge.
The fire exit is place at the back of the building every floor. Then, the third floor consisted of stores, cafe, toilet and office. The
fourth floor consisted of stores, cafe and restaurants. And the roof deck shed that accessible by the stairs has 2.2 meters in
height.
The total floor area of the residential house is 875.1204 m2 from the first floor up to the roof deck.
1.2 Project Scope and Limitations
1.2.1 Scopes
The following were the scopes of the design project:
1. The Project is based on the conceptualization of the design according to the
National Structural Code of the Philippines 2015 and National Building Code of the Philippines.
2. To provide the analysis of the loads and moments using STAAD Pro V8i.
3. To provide manual computations and analysis.
1.2.2 Limitations
The following were the limitations of the design project:
1. The project doesn't include other trades such as mechanical, electrical,
fire and sanitation, and plumbing which are essential in the building.
2. The project doesn't include traffic and control management and mobilization
for the execution of the proposed project.
1.3 Location
The Project location of the project will be along Santa Maria, Bulacan. Drawing plates below are its preliminary drawings:
