Reflection Paper

It was a memorable and a fun experience when we came to the National Museum located
at Manila which is near Luneta Park. There are 4 different buildings that resembles temples from
Greece and each of those buildings constists different stuffs. They are called National Museum
of Fine Arts, National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of Anthropology and the
National Planetarium.

The first building where we went

was the Planetarium it was a memorable
experience inside because we saw lots of
stuffs about space science and things
about astronomy. The Planetarium
shows, lectures, demonstrations, exhibits,
and actual celestial observations. The
unique feature of the Planetarium that
made it more exiting is the true-to-life
projection of astronomical bodies that
captures our interest and our imagination.

Our second destination was the National

Museum of Fine Arts where we saw different
historical paintings and sculptures. One of the
thing that I can recall was the Spoliarium. It is a
painting made by Juan Luna its size is 4 meters
width and 7 meters height. Spoliarium is a term
that refers to the basement of the Roman
Colosseum where the fallen and dying
gladiators are dumped and devoid of their
worldly possessions. At the center of Luna's
painting are fallen gladiators being dragged by
Roman soldiers. Not just this there are also lots
of things inside the National Museum of Fine
Arts. There are also different sculptures, statue, and beautiful paintings.

The third building where

we went is the National Museum of
Anthropology in here we learned
different tools that people used in
the past such as weapons,
potteries, clothes, coins,
accessories, sculptures, and tools
that people used in the past to
make their work easier.

And the last but I would say

that it was the best for me at least
is the National Museum of Natural
History. Inside here we discovered
different animals and trees. This
museum consists of zoological,
botanical and geological displayed
in an elegant venue. It was really
fun and exciting when we came
inside because we have seen the
interesting attractions. In the first
floor we saw things like fossils and
in the second floor we saw the
skeleton of the Philippine’s largest crocodile ever recorded named “Lolong”. And the other floors
consists of a mini replica of a forest, marine life which gives you an idea how the bottom of the sea looks
like. These floors consists of different trees, animals that lives in there and in the marine realm you can
find shells, a replica of life-size animals such as whales, dolphins, sharks, and manta rays.

I think this tour really made me appreciate our Filipino heritage more because it showed me how
rich and great our history is.
