1. Raise the lift arms and position the cylinder lock (1). Refer to Operation and Maintenance
Manual, "Loader Lift Arm Brace Operation" for the process for engaging the brace for the
loader lift arms.
2. Tilt the cab.

3. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Drive Chain Case Oil - Change" for the
correct draining and filling procedure.
4. Remove bolts (2) and plate (3) .

5. Use Tooling (A) in order to raise the side of the machine. Position suitable blocking in order
to support the side of the machine. Repeat for the rear of the machine.

6. Loosen front axle bolts (5) to release the chain tension. Repeat this step for the rear axle
bolts.

7. Position Tooling (B) and Tooling (F) on each side of the machine. Position Tooling (C),
Tooling (D), and Tooling (E) onto Tooling (B) and Tooling (F). Attach piston motor (7) to
Tooling (E). The weight of piston motor (7) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).
8. Disconnect all hose assemblies (6). Disconnect harness not shown.

9. Remove bolt (8) and retainer (9). Remove bolts (10). Remove sprockets (11) and piston
motor (7) .
Note: The piston motor and the sprockets will be removed at the same time.

10. Remove O-ring seal (12) and spacer (13) from piston motor (7) .
Installation Procedure
1. Install piston motor (7) in the reverse order of removal.
a. Tighten bolt (9) to a torque of 100 ± 10 N·m (74 ± 7 lb ft).
b. Apply Tooling (J) to the washers of bolts (11) .

c. Tighten bolts numbered in numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 9, to a torque
of 40 ± 3 N·m (30 ± 2 lb ft). Using the numerical sequence shown in Illustration 9,
Tighten all bolts (11) to a torque of 180 ± 10 N·m (132 ± 7 lb ft).
d. Tighten drive chains. Refer to Operation Maintenance Manual, "Drive Chain Tension-
Check/Adjust".

e. Tighten nuts (5) in numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 10 to a torque of 160
± 15 N·m (118 ± 11 lb ft). Using the numerical sequence shown in Illustration 10,
turn nuts (5) by an additional 60°± 5°.

f. Apply a 3 ± 1 mm (0.1 ± 0.04 inch) continuous bead of Tooling (G) to the mating
surface of plate (3) and in the bolt holes for bolts (2) .
g. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 40 ± 4 N·m (30 ± 3 lb ft).
h. Apply Tooling (H) to the threads of plug (4) .
i. Tighten plug (4) to a torque of 160 ± 8 N·m (118 ± 6 lb ft).
j. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Drive Chain Case Oil - Change".
