OFFICIAL GUIDELINES

CHARCOAL PAINTING COMPETITION


1. There should be at least 1 representative and 1 alternate per
organization.

2. Each contestant is giving approximately 1 hour to finish their artwork.

3. Drawing or Painting must be on illustration board with same sizes per


contestant to be provided by the committee.

4. Acceptable tools of drawing are any types of Charcoal Pencil, And


Erasers to be provided by the committee.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITION

The following information will help provide a successful Battle of the Bands.
First 10 entries only.

1. At least twelve (12) minutes stage time is given to each band including
setup, sound check and 2 full songs, spills, etc.

2. The participants are also asked to prepare two songs. They can choose
any songs they want to play. The set should contain no vulgarities,
profanities, lewd comments, racist remarks, violence, sexual content, etc.

3. You must provide your own instruments, amplifiers, and cables.

4. Student Government is not liable for any damage or theft of personal


property.

5. Please provide a biography will be read and used by the emcee at the
competition. Be creative, humorous, and list some of the events at which
you or your band have performed (if had). Include names, ages, and
organization or department involved.

6. There should be five (5) to seven (7) band members including the
professor.

6. The Band that exceeds the maximum performance shall be given a one
(1) point deduction from the total score per minute of overtime.

7. The winner will be chosen from a judge panel; two songs will be
performed; the judges will critique the performance and provide feedback
with recommendations. Audience participation will factor into the decision.

8. The Judges' decision is final and irrevocable.

Originality/ song arrangement – 30%

Overall impact 20%

Audience impact 10%

Total-100%
