Metaclean TR: Description

Metaclean TR is a low toxicity biocide developed to protect water-based systems from bacteria and fungi. It is described chemically as hexahydro-1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-triazine. M E T A C L E A N TR

DESCRIPTION

A low toxicity biocide developed for the protection of water based systems against bacteria
and fungal spoilage.

COMPOSITION

Described chemically as hexahydro – 1, 3, 5, - tris (2-hydroxyethyl) – 2 triazine.

PROPERTIES

 Prevents premature breakdowns of emulsions due to bacterial attack, so emulsion


properties remain consistent for longer periods. i.e. cleaning and lubrication
characteristics are maintained.

 Prevents the formation of bad odours.

 Stop the formation of bacterial slimes.

 Also effective against fungal growth.

 Low toxicity.

 Has a buffering effect of the pH value of the emulsion.


Metaclean TR is alkaline in nature and tends to slightly raise the pH value of most
emulsions.

APPLICATION

We recommend 0.2% (2000ppm) Metaclean TR is added to emulsions with bacterial


infections which require treating (usually with bacteria counts in excess of 10 5/ml).
Subsequent additions of 0.05% (500 ppm) may be needed to control the emulsion in use.
Weekly checks should be carried out on emulsions to see if dosing is required.
