Examine the drawing of panel erection layout with Site Engineer Site-in-charge
respect to the general layout
1
Fabricate Base frame for the panel as per the Site Engineer Site-in-charge
2 manufactures drawings / recommendation.
Paint the Frames with red oxide paint. Grout these Site Engineer Site-in-charge
3 frames with cement / concrete at proper place.
Shift the Panels from stores to location by means of Site Engineer Site-in-charge
4 suitable truck / trailer.
Carry out Physical verification for any possible Site Engineer Site-in-charge
5 damage.
Check for Necessary lifting tools and tackles in relation Site Engineer Site-in-charge
6 with load to be lifted and ensure safe lifting
7 Panel to be rolled over MS / Gi pipes (50 dia approx) Site Engineer Site-in-charge
with the MS channels below the pipes for shifting from
wall opening to base frame. Packing materials to be
removed from panel and to be taken out from the sub
station.
Place the Panel vertically on the base frame, and Site Engineer Site-in-charge
7 properly align it with the base frame.
Connect Bus bar coupler plates and tighten it Site Engineer Site-in-charge
8 properly.
Clean the Panels with air blower / vacuum cleaner. Site Engineer Site-in-charge
9
Provide all cover plates and properly tighten them. Site Engineer Site-in-charge
10
Perform Internal panel wiring in necessary conditions. Site Engineer Site-in-charge
11
Check the internal components of the panel for their Site Engineer Site-in-charge
12 proper fixings.

Verify the Individual feeder functional scheme. Site Engineer Site-in-charge
13
Carry out the Panel erection inspection as per the Site Engineer Site-in-charge
14 inspection report
Relays and accessories of the panel are to be tested Site Engineer Site-in-charge
15 for their proper functioning as per the manufactures
instruction.
16. Risk Assessement & control measures:
1. Work permit to be taken before start of the work.
2. Adequate area lighting to be ensured in all the work places including
sub station before start of the works. For Shifting of Panels from
storage yard to work place, proper lifting tools & tackles, hydra & truck
/ trailor with good condition to be ensured and the same to be certified
by competant person.
3. Proper crane or Hydra to be selected as per the road conditions and
area to be cordoned off and proper rigging procedures should be
followed.
4. Hydra alone should not be used for transportation of panels & the same
should be used only for loading & unloading.
5. Transportation supervisor should be made responsible to guide the
trailor & alert the people during transportation.
6. Tag line rope to be tied to panels & load to be guided by two persons.
Workers should be approximately 2-3 mtrs away from the panels while
loading and unloading.
7. Ladder to be ensured/checked for fixing/releasing the sling from Hydra
hook.
8. Before starting of panel erection works in the sub stations, all the cut
outs / civil openings for cable entry in the panels to be closed with
gratings / chequred plates / MS plates or hard barricaded with double
hand rail.
9. Proper scaffold to be installed adjacent to the wall opening in the
upper floors of the sub station for taking the panels inside the building.
10. Life line to be tied in the panel room from one end to other near the cut
out where panel is to be placed. Workers to ensure wearing and usage
of full body harness while dragging and placing the panel over the cut
out.
11. Pl ensure that only required area of the cut out / opening to be opened
while placing of panel over the base frame. Balance all cut outs should
remained closed.
12. After complete erection of the full panel board rest open area of the cut
outs to be covered immediately either with permanent chequered plates
of temporary MS sheets according to the scope of work.
13. Welding machine to be connected to proper power distribution board
with ELECB, metal clad plug and socket, doubly earthed. Earthing
cable to be provided with crimping lug.
14. Proper house keeping to be maintained and fire extinguishers to be
provided in sub station area.
15. Hose of the gas cutting set to be checked by soup solution and hose
clamp to be used. Flash back arrester to be ensured at both torch and
cylinder end. Correct size nozzles to be ensured and proper clearance
to be maintained between job and nozzle. Condition of the regulator,
hose and torch to be checked. Stone lighter to be used.
16. Grinding Wheel rpm to be checked and to be ensured for correctness.
Grinding m/c wheel guard is to be ensured.
17. Proper PPEs are to be ensured for all the activities.
