EID
MUBARAK
Yusuf has developed a strong sense of belonging at this Islamic childcare center and has developed
a strong identity as a Muslim. We are preparing our children for Qoran competition, basic
knowledge of Islam and Art, which relates to Eid Al Huda. Today was within the 3 days of Eid. I saw
Yusuf holding a black sheep which was made by Yusuf himself and his mother as a part of the Art
competition. Today when Yusuf enters the classroom, he said: “Salam Alaikum teacher Rosy, Eid
Mubarak, look, look, teacher Rosy this is my baabaa black sheep I made it”. As he stood there, I
saw some of Yusuf’s friends came to see your baabaa black sheep. So excited Mush Allah.
Moreover, Yusuf said Eid Mubarak to all of the parents who dropped off their kids to the center
and showed them his baabaa black sheep. We are preparing for Hajj celebration in the center so
that our children have a knowledge of Hajj which is the fifth pillar of Islam. Yusuf you have learned
the five pillars of Islam as well as surah Iklas, Masha Allah. The most important learning in my
view is that the children learn how to be good kiwi Muslims. As the early year is considered to be a
crucial and critical time in a child’s life, so it’s the best time to learn about Islam, and being a
practicing good Muslim, Insha’Allah we will provide more Islamic activities to widen all your
knowledge. We will encourage Yusuf to develop English vocabulary as well as his relationships
with other children and teachers to become more independent and confident.
