The purpose of this manual is to provide maintenance information for servicing and repair of the First Class Furniture Pod Assembly, part number 85638 1 Maintenance practices for the First Class Furniture Pod Assembly include surface cleaning of the interior and exterior surfaces. Removal/installation instructions are given for replaceable components. All revisions to this document will be submitted to all operators carrying this STC project. Related Publications ‘The following publications, when used together, will provide an effective guide to functionally maintain the Furniture Pod Assembly: ‘A. Illustrated Parts Catalog 25-26-89 (WEO08PC) Effectivity This Maintenance Manual pertains to the First Class Furniture Pod Assembly designed and built for Weber Aircraft, LP. Table 1 lists effectivity coverage. The MM effectivity number is followed by the Customer ID number, and tail number. The First Class Furniture Pod Assembly is the installation of 8 Seat Pods in the First Class section of the aircraft B. The 8 Seat Pods consist of 4 Single Seat Pads and 2 Double Seat Pods. The Single Seat Pods are installed along the walls of the fuselage. The Double Seat Pods are installed in the center portion of the First Class section. C. The Seat Pods provide the user several luxury features, including a personal LCD monitor, D. _All'Seat Pods include stowage, The Double Seat Pods include a retractable privacy panel, E. The Seat Pod Fumiture Assemblies are attached to support beams at fixed locations, The support beams are attached to the aircraft seat tracks. F. The Seat Pod Furniture Assemblies each consist of a Forward Sub-Assembly and an Aft Sub-Assembly. (2) Remove (4) screws from the (2) hinges at the base of the door panel. B. Install Monitor Door Panel or Tray Cover Door Panel, (1) Support cover door panel and align hinge holes. (2) Install (4) screws into the (2) hinges. Removal/Installation Ottoman Stowage Door Refer to Figure 403 for the following steps. A. Remove the Ottoman Stowage Door (1) Open the ottoman stowage door. (2) Remove (2) screws from each of the (2) hinges. B. Install the Ottoman Stowage Door (1) Support stowage arm door and align the hinge holes. (2) Install (2) screws into each of the (2) hinges. Removal/Installation Swivel Ottoman Panel Assembly, Refer to Figure 403 for the following steps. A. Remove Swivel Ottoman Panel (1) Remove (4) screws from each of the (2) pivot swivel brackets. (2) Remove ottoman panel, B. _ Install Swivel Ottoman Panel (1) Support ottoman panel and align it with the pivot swivel brackets and mounting blocks. A. Remove the Armrest Stowage Door (1) Open the stowage door. (2) Remove (2) screws from each of the (2) hinges. B. _ Install the Armrest Stowage Door (1) Support stowage door and align the hinge holes. (2) _ Install (2) screws into each of the (2) hinges. Removal/nstallation Armrest Stowage Assembly Life Preserver Stowage Doors Refer to Figure 403 for the following steps ‘A. Remove the life preserver door (1) _ Pull strap to disengage hook and loop tape from the edges of the life preserver door. (2) Remove (1) screw that secures the lanyard to the door. B. Install the life preserver door (1) Install (1) screw into the life preserver closeout wall to secure the lanyard in place. (2) _ Firmly press life preserver door in place to engage the hook and loop tape around the edges of the door. Removal/installation Closeout Panel Assemblies. Refer to Figure 403 for the following steps. A. Remove Closeout Panel Assemblies (1) Tum quarter-turn fasteners counter-clockwise to release. (2) Remove closeout pane! B. A Remove Literature Pocket Assembly (1) Remove (2) screws and (2) washers from the bottom edge of the Literature Pocket Assembly. (2) Remove (4) screws from the back panel of the Literature Pocket Assembly. B. Install Literature Pocket Assembly (1) Install (4) screws through the back panel of the Literature Pocket Assembly. (2) _ Install (2) screws and (2) washers through the inserts on the bottom edge of the Literature Pocket Assembly. Removal/installation Louvered Grill Assembly Refer to Figure 403 for the following steps. ‘A. Remove Louvered Grill Assembly (1) Turn (2) quarter-turn fasteners in the lower grill clip brackets counter-clockwise to release the grill assembly. (2) Gently pull the grill assembly down and out of the (2) upper grill clips. B. Install Louvered Grill Assembly (1) Support grill assembly and gently insert (2) top tabs into (2) upper gril clips. Torque Values: (1) Torque the tie-down fitting stud nuts that secure the structure support beams to the seat tracks to 60-80 IN-LBS. (2) Torque the tie-down fiting bolts that secure the Furniture Pods to the fwd support beams through the ottoman furniture attach fitings to 45-55 IN-LBS. (3) Torque the tie-down fitting bolts that secure the Furniture Pods to the aft support beams through the sidewall and armrest brackets to 45-55 IN-LBS. (4) Torque the (6) screws that attach the Fwd Furniture Pod Sub-Assembly to the Aft Furniture Pod Sub-Assembly to 20-25 IN-LBS. Testing Procedures: B. Check Procedures: ‘A. General Instruction NOTE: — Visual inspection to be performed after every twelve months, while in service. (1) Visually check surface of VCC assembly and its components for scratches, dents, discoloration and wear. (2) Visually check hinges for loose or missing screws, evidence of wear or other damage. (8) Visually check door latches and strikes for loose or missing screws, evidence of wear or other damage. (4) Visually check handles, rubber strips and trim for loose or missing screws, evidence of wear or other damage. General Instructions: (1) Fabricated assemblies shall be protected at all times during storage to avoid soiling. (2) Airborne dust shall not be allowed to accumulate on assembly surfaces. Painting Procedures: ‘A. General Instructions (1) Keep work areas clear and reasonably free of dust and severe temperature changes that adversely affect the application and cure of the coatings, (2) Allfilms shall be smooth, reasonably free of lint and free of imperfections such as over- spray, runs, sags, blisters and orange peel. If the film is decorative it shall also provide the desired hiding or color match. (8) Use a soft natural-bristied brush. Use round or oval brush for rivets, bolts and rough irregular surfaces. Use lat brushes, maximum five inches wide, for large flat or plain areas. (4) Wipers, cheesecloth, gauze, new or laundered rags, or other absorbent materials will not be contaminated with silicone grease, silicone oil, or metal chips and shavings. B. Hazards and Safety (1) All required safety guidelines and instructions will be followed. All protective devices, equipment, and personel protection will be used (2) Many of the solvents and paint materials are flammable and toxic.
