PART I. DEFINE THE GOALS/S FOR THE LESSON
What is the focus of this Students will create artwork using a monotype method of
lesson? printmaking.
National / State Learning Student Expectation - FA.A.HS.L1.1B: identify and understand
Standard/s: the elements of art, including line, shape, color, texture, form,
space, and value, as the fundamentals of art in personal
. artwork.
Student Expectation - FA.A.HS.L1.2F: demonstrate effective use
of art media and tools in drawing, painting, printmaking,
sculpture, ceramics, fiber art, design, and digital art and media.

Goal/s of the lesson Student will be able to create successful monotype prints.
PART II: WRITE THE OBJECTIVE/S FOR THE LESSON
Specific learning target(s) /  The learner will understand the difference between all 5
objectives: types of printmaking techniques.
 The learner will produce two 6x6 inch artworks.
 The learner will use prior knowledge of color theory and
design.
 The learner will complete activity in 1, 40 minute class
period.
PART III TEACHING THE LESSON

A. Opening/Introduction Students will be presented a power point on the subject as well as


a live demo explaining the difference between the 5 different
processes of printmaking. Students will also watch a video
explaining the project.
B. Procedures  Following the PowerPoint presentation, students will
be shown/reminded of the live demonstration of the
monotype process.
 Supplies will be passed out and available at the front
of the room for students to retrieve 1 by 1.
 Students will be instructed to only use a small amount
of shaving cream and food coloring to complete
monoprint.
 Students will independently create monoprints and put
completed works on drying racks.
 Students will clean up 5 min before class gets out.
C. Formative Students will be asked during the next class how they think their
assessment monoprints turned out and what they thought of the process.

IV. SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Summative Students will be assessed by participation, project completion, and providing


Assessment: project feedback.

Assessment Student will have accommodations catered to their individual needs.

&  One on one instruction is available
Modifications  Supplies is safe/non-toxic

V. REFLECTION ON THE EXPERIENCE


Reflection I anticipate this lesson going very well. Content is engaging and fun,
something they have been needing this school year. I am looking forward to
seeing the finished products and getting to see the students having a bit of
fun during the process.
