7. COMPETITION

The prime competitive threat comes from iPrint.com, a company that currently
dominates the market. Its weakness, however, is charging too much. iPrint.com, is an
Internet print shop that allows customers to create custom printed products. iPrint.com
has developed cutting-edge technology and harnessed the power of the Internet to
bring dramatic change to the centuries old printing industry. iPrint.com allows
customers to design and order customized printed products such as business cards,
office stationery, business checks and forms, personalized company post-it notes, logo
coffee cups, promotional t-shirts and photo mouse pads. The company focuses on the
business market.

Competitive threats also come from any company that is able to provide the services
offered by Quikprints.com at lower prices. This can be any local print shops or online
print shops like vistaprint.

PORTER’S FIVE FORCE MODEL

 Threat of new Entrants (medium)
This industry requires heavy capital investments in machines. In this industry,
there is very rapid change in technology which is very risky as new machine
costs 5-6 crores which proves to be an entry barrier.

If existing competitors have the best geographical locations, new competitors

will have a competitive disadvantage. Limiting geographic factors positively
affect Printing industry.

 Bargaining power of customers. (Low)

When there are large numbers of customers, no one customer tends to have
bargaining leverage. Limited bargaining leverage helps printing industry.
"Large Number of Customers (Printing Industry)" has a significant impact, so
an analyst should put more weight into it. This statement will lead to an
increase in profits for this entity.

Page | 9
When customers cherish particular products they end up paying more for that
one product. This positively affects Printing industry

 Bargaining Power of Suppliers. (Low)

The more diverse distribution channels become the less bargaining power a
single distributor will have. This positively affects Printing industry.

When critical production inputs are similar, it is easier to mix and match
inputs, which reduces supplier bargaining power; a positive for Printing
industry.

The easier it is to switch suppliers, the less bargaining power they have. Low
supplier switching costs positively affect Printing industry.

 Threat of Substitutes (medium)

A lower performance product means a customer is less likely to switch
from printing industry to another product or service.

A limited number of substitutes mean that customers cannot easily find other
products or services that fulfil their needs. Limited substitutes are a positive for
printing industry.

Limited number of substitutes means that customers cannot easily switch to

other products or services of similar price and still receive the same benefits.
High switching costs positively affect Printing industry.

 Intensity of Existing Rivalry (low)

Government policies and regulations can dictate the level of competition within
the industry. When they limit competition, this is a positive for printing
industry.

When industries are growing revenue quickly, they are less likely to compete,
because the total industry size is also growing. The only way to grow in slow
growth industries is to steal market-share from competitors. Fast industry
growth positively affects Printing industry

Large industries allow multiple firms and produces to prosper without having
to steal market share from each other. Large industry size is a positive
for printing industry

exposing customers to products and services that most closely meet their needs.

 Expand services- Expand Quikprint's specialized print services by creating a

Page | 11
9. RISK ASSESSMENT

Customer-driven product creation- Customers do not order from a static, pre-set

product catalogue. Rather, customers can create sophisticated design projects,
requiring the ability to freely mix text, graphic images, fonts, styles, and colours on
printed items.

Intensive customer interaction- Our websites are not presenting static content pages;
customers are engaged in intensive design activities which require constant system
monitoring and optimization as visitor traffic grows.

Point-of-order pricing- Since each product created is a custom design consisting of

various inks, papers, designs, and quantity attributes, Quikprints.com must be able to
provide accurate, real-time pricing information to its customers that can be calculated
instantaneously from thousands of price point combinations.

Re-orders - Quikprints.com will retain each customer's order specifications, including

all designs, negatives, and print plates, for a limited time. This will enable us to
charge a lower fee for an exact reprint of a previous order. This can increase the
inventory holding cost and huge loss can occur if print plates are not stored accurately.

Quikprints.com believes that, with our technology expertise, we will be able to

address these challenges while also handling large numbers of customer design
sessions and orders. Our skilled labour and most efficient management team will
ensure that these risks do not turn into liability for the company.

and promoting as an ad on social media apps like intsagram, facebook and Youtube.

magazines. Newspaper and magazine ads will be used since our customers include
business people who read various publications.

the company targets youth and they are more inclined towards celebrity associated
with the particular brand.

Page | 13
11. SALES STRATEGY
The company's sales strategy will be relatively minimal since Quikprints.com is
offering distant, self-customizing services. It is expected that the company's
marketing efforts will bring customers to the website, and the benefits of
convenience, customization and low price as advertised on the website will be the
incentives to close a sale.

Most importantly, PrintingSolutions.com will provide our customers exactly what

they want or there will be no charge.
